All the criticism of the game so far that I've read has been constructive.
Sorry, I don't refer to lecturing the creator of the entire franchise about how he's racist and incorrect ABOUT HIS OWN CREATION, as being constructive.

Gamergaters even tried to gatekeep ME, and I don't care to have that shit happen again. I do not want to revive that horde again.

I don't think there's much risk of that repeating. Now we already know where we stand and there's no expectation of integrity from a lot of people and sites any more so there also won't be the same outrage when a lack of integrity presents itself. All it'll do is further Balkanize the "sides" and reconfirm to them that the other side indeed is all the bad things they thought it was.

Gatekeeping is a funny thing to worry about though, I'll be honest. I'll welcome the challenge as an opportunity to flex my knowledge and experience, which is fun. Even if you "fail" it doesn't actually matter at all so it's not as though something happened to you. Only people with terribly fragile egos would worry about such a thing.

Morons were hee-hawing about How Incredibly Problematic basically everything about Cyberpunk 2077 was, and how racist Cyberpunk's creator(s) obviously had to be to create such Bigoted Trash in the First Place.

Meanwhile over in the corner native and immigrant Haitians were over the fucking Moon their national culture was being depicted accurately and halfway respectfully for once, and Cyberpunk 2020's creator, Mike Pondsmith, is a damn-near 40-year veteran of the pen-and-paper RP industry who happens to be black and sick of social justice bullshit. Thus it was the "oh you poor, downtrodden, voiceless minority, I shall be offended on your behalf!" lunatics got quite publicly read the riot act on Reddit and social media. It was significant enough of a backlash that, miracle of miracles, some of them shut the fuck up for a change.

At the same time, certain gaming forums now famous for harboring pedophiles, and adjacent sites/usual suspects, climbed onto their crosses and fainting couches over an in-game energy drink/soda ad featuring a woman sporting a monster hard-on. As if this wouldn't be the inevitable result of a head-on collision between "sex sells" advertising and trans normalization. As if mass objectification and human exploitation in the face of overwhelming corporate greed and authority wasn't a core theme of the cyberpunk genre.

Sorry/Not Sorry for getting annoyed when some little puke wasn't even ALIVE when I was running Star Frontier PnP games and playing TRS-80 CoCo games that came on magnetic tape tries to lecture me on how I'm not a real gamer. It gets old, man.
