I was a little late to the Fallout party when I jumped on with Fallout 3. I find the story very intriguing and would like to play the first games. So my question is Fallout 1 & 2 worth getting? I look forward to reading your comments.
I would say Fallout 2 is better but Fallout 1 starts out much better and introduces some stuff that does show up in the second one. I would say unless someone hates point and click isometric games, hates RPGs, or is a graphic, whore both games are worth playing.ThrobbingEgo said:Actually, Fallout 1's the better of the two. Fallout 2 was ambitious, but rushed. The original Fallout has a better structure and balance than its sequel. Still, both are fantastic games.
You can grab them on Good Old Games for fairly cheap.
There is a thing called difficulty settings. Fallout 1 and 2 on Easy are easier than Fallout 3 on its hardest setting.Jekken6 said:If you liked Fallout 3, you may find the gameplay of the originals quite tedious and insanely difficult. Excellent writing and characters, I just found that the gameplay in the originals were not very fun.

After Fallout 3, I was desperate for so more Fallout also. The thing you have to remember when playing the first two Fallout games, is that they were before our time, at least for me. That being said they were hard for me to play because of the difficulty. I got through half of Fallout before I finally broke down and download a trainer for the game just so I could finish it. Fallout 2 was better than Fallout 1, the game was still challenging, but not to absurdity, I never had to cheat for Fallout 2. So yeah, if you really care about the Fallout universe after 3, I would say pick these gems up.Sleekgiant said:I was a little late to the Fallout party when I jumped on with Fallout 3.
