Another hentai thread. Hentai isn't bad. Personally i think it's awesome. it's a way an artist can convey his/her greatest sexual fantasy no matter how un realistic. Personally i find a senario where two girl explore there sexuality neverously so much more erotic then a bunch of whores busting out their tits and sucking dick all day.

Compared to actual pornography, no. A lot of porn actresses are probably funding an addiction of some sort by debasing themselves. Ink does not have the capacity to do that.

Personally, I do not support lolicon or shotacon hentai, but I don't think anyone who buys or reads it is going to be a child molester. Just like how people who play shooters are not going to suddenly have the urge to gun down random people.
I do think that regular hentai reinforces negative crap about women though. It's not the WORST, but it's not helping in any sense.

Not in the very least, people draw what they want to see, noone get's hurt or involved in it, yet others still get to enjoy all sorts of tentacly demonic porn... and how people get their jollies on is their own business.

You have to remember that hentai is japanese and every one in there twenties look like they are 12. no joke i've been there. with that in mind though i have seen some hentai where there are ovious children in the video but remember it's just a drawing of a fantasy that the artist is having at the time. maybe he/she is reflecting on one of his/her own experiences as a child. i definatly didn't wait to be 18 to have sex hell no maybe what is drawn is a real experience.similar.squirrel said:

... actually take a look at the people around you the likely hood is that several of them are hiding a sexual fetish that is considered perverted and bad.

No, to both issues raised. If it doesn't do harm, it isn't bad, regardless of personal preference.

As long as something does not cause harm to real people I'm fine with it. Whether lolicon causes any harm is debatable, but, like with violent videogames, I've yet to see any compelling arguments to support the hypothesis that it is indeed harmful.
I find that many of the things that are depicted or shown in hentai are not suited to my tastes, or are things that I find repulsive. But like any other medium, it is mostly a simple matter of personal taste.
As for the argument that situations that are depicted in H materials that would be extremely immoral and illegal in real life should also be as immoral and illegal, I only have this to say: you need to distinguish between reality and fantasy. Setting philosophical debates about existence aside, reality is very different from drawings, animations, pixels, and vertices. To my knowledge, fictional depictions do not think or feel. They don't, because they can't.
