I'll hit them as often as I would hit a guy, which isn't much. I don't see why a woman would ask for special treatment and then fight for equal rights. You can't always have the best of both worlds.

If you really believe in the equality of the sexs then hitting a girl is no worse then hitting a boy.

So, if you're a short guy, and some bodybuilder woman corners you, starts beating you up. Then proceeds to attacking your family, you'll just standby and watch?

OP READ HERE: Its not bad if she's bigger than you and actually poses a threat to you. I've only had to punch one woman in my life. She had a knife and was trying to stab me, I like to think it was justified. Try getting that past a school board though. I could have been stabbed, taken the knife off her and they'd tell me I must have done it myself. Equality my arse

So yeah OP: Generally hitting a girl is bad and you should probably avoid it, because most girls are a fair bit weaker than men.
Anyone here wanna call me out on that? Sorry, average weight and size of woman in the UK vs men has men taller and heavier. Here's an (admittedly old) study because I couldn't be arsed to find the newer one.

I try at all times to be completely fair to everyone around me but and if someone boy or girl swings a my my reflexes are more often then not fast enough to dodge or to use "light" judo movements on them meaning I may grab sidestep a fist grab it then trip them or to tell you the truth and though I did take judo and I'm being completely serious, there was A time where I played so much tekken 5 as Asuka when A friend playfully reached out to hit me I did one of her counters. I'm not saying I did anything rediculous like Yoshimitsu's moves but it was pretty cool. But back on topic I've never been in a real fight and if it were against a girl though I Couldn't imagine what I may have done to her I would fight back even if i were just redirecting punches and throwing her on the ground.

Why would you pick a fight with a female boxer? I'm talking about hitting your average women not a 210 pound behemoth.

So an average woman can't defend herself? I seen women who are not even trained and can defend themselves fine. The idea of a weak woman is just that, an idea. Its no more real than santa claus. It only existed in a time when we still fought with swords and women were only used to make babies. We do not live in that time anymore. Hell, we don;t even live in a time when men need muscle. We are no longer bound by gender roles. A man can be a 80 pound weakling, while a woman could be a heavy weight boxer. Technology changed the game, but humanity refuses to change.

Chances are that the man doing the hitting is going to be considerably stronger than the woman. Your average man is going to be stronger than your average woman.

I thought it was pretty much common sense that the "not hitting a girl" thing only applied in a situation where the strike is unprovoked or an unnecessary overreaction.

It is no worse than hitting a guy, but neither is something you should do in most cases.
The problem is unnecessarily attacking someone weaker than you, regardless of your or their gender.

If I can, I'd like to avoid hitting anyone. Thus far in my life I've not really gotten into a proper fight and haven't full on punched either gender. I'll only fight a guy in self-defense, but there's something deeply ingrained in me that just feels wrong about hitting a woman. Don't get me wrong, like some of the people have mentioned if she's pulling a knife/gun on you, you've every right to take her down. But otherwise I really couldn't hit a girl, I'm a pretty big guy so I'd like to think I could restrain most girls assaulting me without having to resort to striking her. Although if a female kickboxer ever starts a fight with me I'm screwed 0_0. But like I said, I've never encountered a situation where I've had to defend myself forcibly against a woman and hopefully I never will.

Anyway, being siblings changes the whole "okay to hit?" thing.

Lot's of people saying it's okay to hit people as long as they hit first. That doesn't work when you are kids, and it doesn't work once you've grown up either. Or I guess that attitude means you haven't grown up yet. If you have it in your ability, you should subdue the person. If you could wreck the person hitting you, congratulations, it's in your ability.

Yes, as is hitting anyone. What sex that happens to be is about as relevant as the fact that the sun rises in the east.

That being said, if someone comes at me swinging - and I mean really wants to hurt me - I'm going to drill that person in the solar plexus as hard as I can to prevent them from doing that. You have the right to defend yourself against anyone, you do not have the right to "hit" anyone.

You're assuming the man is fit, and has to do actual work. In a country like America with a physical health and obesity problem there is no muscle. Muscle is as outdated as pagers, or fax machines when technology can offer muscle power 100x that of a man could. Technology changed the world in more ways than one. We are no longer bound by primitive roles, and we can be anything we wish to be. We don't even need muscle mass, just intelligence and effort.

Based on the average man you see in the UK(where I'm from) he is usually at least 6ft with quite abit of muscle compared to your average woman that stands at about 5ft 7". Now if a 6ft man hits a 5ft 7" woman then they are a pussy. 8 times out of 10 a man is going to come out on top if he fights with a woman.

In my opinion, hitting anyone is bad. Sure, it is ok if you are just mucking around or playfighting (Nothing too forceful), but if I ever have a girlfriend that went on a rampage and started hitting me, I would not hit her back. I would use grappling techniques to subdue her (nothing too painful, just so that she can't hit anyone else) until she calms down. Or just move to another room and lock the door.

I do it this way... I don't hit a lady and a lady doesn't hit. Ergo, if they hit me, they are not a lady and thus I will do what needs to be done in a physical altercation.
