I lost my virginity to my current girlfriend who was also a virgin. Not that it bothered me, but it did give me some peace of mind regarding possible cheating. She drinks more than I do (I detest alcohol, so its an easy feat) and during highschool we both engaged in some recreational abuse though nothing that could be regarded as "hard" in any sense.
Now both of us use no drugs and barely drink. Its a maturity thing really. Back then those things were the shit.. now their meaningless. The same goes for any smoking/ promiscuity or drinking during high school
How does her being a virgin have anything to do with cheating?
If she was fucking dudes before she met you, that is not cheating on you, and whether or not she is fucking other dudes behind your back right now has nothing to do with whether she lost her virginity to you.

Virginity and faithfulness are not related in way, which is I think where the OP has gone wrong too.

Serious question for the OP.

You meet a girl who fulfills all the criteria you're after and she IS a virgin. BUT - she's gone down on guys in the past. Would you still marry her?

Am interested to see where you draw the line.

Had sex 4 the first time a few weeks ago, im 18.
Its not that great and its WAY harder then you think.
I smoke weed and drink occasionally.

I know this dosen't mean anything to you ( as i was in the same boat), but there's nothing wrong with not doing these things if ur not happy with it.

Ah, the good old days of fumbling awkward teenage sex. Don't worry: No-one is good their first time. This is why I cannot understand the sexual appeal of a virgin.

Who cares if she is a virgin or not.

What matters are a few things

1) Shared trust between partners
2) Shared love between partners

And a couple o things more. But wether or not she (or he.) is a virgin... Should not really matter if you love someone or not. In my opinion anyway.

Well, I guess one of the perks of being Christian and having a Christian girlfriend is that you can be almost positive that they're a virgin.

Also, I didn't do any of that in highschool (nor do I know anyone who did); you're really not helping my whole "Americans are plain weird" notion.

Is replying to verbal irony with situational irony, itself, dramatic irony?
No, dramatic irony is when the viewer or reader is privy to knowledge that the protagonist isn't. For example, you know who the murderer in the novel is, but the detective doesn't. If your comment was a joke, well, woops. But to be fair it wasn't a very good one.

OT: I'm a virgin, although I have had alcohol (seeing as I'm above the legal age in Australia) and I have smoked before. Frankly, I can understand not wanting the pressure of sleeping with someone who has experience when you haven't. However, if you find someone who cares about you, and who you know won't judge you, I am actually somewhat appalled that you would dismiss them on the basis of them having had sex before. If I met a guy who factored my virginity in before going out with me, I would immediately dismiss them as a potential partner even though I fulfill their criteria. Frankly, that's judgemental and immature. I'm leaving sexist off because I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you would be equally judgemental of your male friends. That doesn't make it any less petty and absurd.

I am virgin (I am a-sexual), I don't drink, I haven't ever done illegal drugs. But I am a male :) Sorry... And I live in Finland.

But I think you got a hard task front of you. One thing I have learned in my life is the fact that you can't trust people, specially if it is the first date you are going. People will paint a picture of them selfs in order to be just like what you want them to be, but after a while, when you learn to "love" the person, that picture will come crumbling down bit by bit until you both have revealed the real yourself.

I think you will just find someone that you end up liking and then change your values. DOn't try saying "No that wont happen ever", it has happened to almost every person I know, hell even to my parents when they got married.

I mean, a study found that the average man has 11 sexual partners before they marry, and the average woman has 7.
If that is true, then there is a hard-core of sluts that have sex with more than 15 guys on average, whereas the majority of "normal" women have had less than 7 partners.
Of course, this doesn't take homosexuality into account.

Also, virginity is overrated.

Well, my understanding of the matter is inhibited by my non-existent social life, but I doubt such people are highly rare.

Oh, and never have done any drugs, legal or illegal, for recreational reasons.
SO you've never taken alchol or caffeine. Or aspirin?
People use aspirin for recreational purposes?
What, you mean you don't? NOthing quite like the buzz you get from a good ol' aspirin.

Kiwi eh? New Zealand has one of the highest rates of cannabis usage in the world. About half of the NZ population have used recreational drugs at some point in their life. That is excluding alchohol. Let me do a bit of googling on that...

From the 2007/08 Ministry of Health New Zealand Alcohol and Drug Use Survey*

Eight in ten (79.6%) people aged 16?17 years had consumed alcohol in the past
year. There was no significant change in the prevalence of past-year drinking from
1996/97 to 2007/08 in this age group.

Note: that is 'in the past year' not 'ever'.

Results on sex vary a bit, I found another NZ MOH report which said in the 16-17 year old group 40% had had sexual intercourse.

It's fair to say that not all the people who drink, will have sex, and smoke pot. My kingdom for a Venn diagram!

Anyway based on the above, the percentage of 16-17 year olds who wouldn't have had sex, taken drugs, or drunk alcohol would be a very very small minority.

Not that I am calling you a liar, just saying your experience is very atypical.

The virgin part usually doesn't bother me until I think too much about it. Then I fall into that "I'm going on 19 years old and I'm still a virgin and I feel dysfunctional and unacceptable regarding my orientation, experience and gender and someone please hold me" hole. It's not fun.
I'm in EXACTLY the same position. I've had friends who've found out, then laughed and implied there's something wrong with me. Not friends with them anymore of course. But yeah, I know what you're talking about, and it's not nice...

Anyway, on topic, I think that lots of people smoke, drink or whatever because that's just what some young people do. I've known adults that told me they did this, and they aren't proud of it, but it doesn't define who they are.

I think... cut people a bit of slack, you know? Whether or not they drink, do drugs, or have sex is their choice after all, and if you're going to cut youself off from those people based on what they've done, there's a lot of good people out there that you're going to ignore.

And for the record, I've never smoked, done drugs, although I have drunk, but legally, thank god for the lower drinking age in europe. :)

No drugs, no alcohol, no sex? Sounds like you want someone who's no fun or experienced at all.

Hah, just kidding, there's nothing wrong with that; though, it's a bit more traditional then most people are, nowadays.

I know tons. I'm dating one. But it really doesn't matter. I lost mine to another... I think virginity is overrated, but it's nothing to even consider. Seriously? The only upside I can see about dating virgins is that you're pretty damn sure they have no STIs.
What I'm saying is, virginity shouldn't mean anything in society, if you're a virgin, fine, if you're not, who the hell cares? IT SHOULDN'T MATTER

It's not hard to find virgins, it just takes a bit of extra candy. *pedobear seal approval*

Seriously though, virginity is about the oldest "commodity" in existence. People used to bargain in virgins hundreds of years ago. The occupying Moors demanded 1000 virgins a year from their occupied lands. Can we please evolve a bit beyond the middle ages and just try and see people as more than a checklist of people they've slept with and substances they've consumed.
