In most cases, yes ... yes it is. And quite overrated as well. Roosterteeth is handling it nicely however. Dude, where's my mount was also cool. And Timegnomes or something was alright as well.
I went off machinima after they were positing glitch tutorials for MW2. I think the day the care package glitch video was posted on machinima it got really bad. Think they told everyone about the akimbo fmj 1887's glitch as well.
The only thing I really ever watch from the Machinima channel is Freeman's Mind but I also used to watch Smashtasm by Shippidge which was okay, but got old fast.
While I admit I enjoy Red Vs Blue and Oxhorn's videos, there's always something that bothered me about machinima videos: The voice acting is fucking awful.
I'm serious, almost every single machinima video I've ever seen was done by 9 year old kids with really high-pitched, whiny voices and crappy $5 microphones. Now I'm not saying that everyone should get $200 Sure microphones or something, but at least put some monetary effort into it.
Take Red Vs Blue for example: Watch their very first episode, then fast-forward to on of their later videos. You can hear an incredible difference in sound quality.
Another thing: script. Not everyone is funny or entertaining. If you can't think of anything to write or your script sounds like two people were forced into an improv show, then you need to pass off the writing bit to someone who can, you know, write.
