Well my personal best was 11 times in one day and a buddy of mine claims 24...personally I couldn't touch myself for a few days after that.
P.S. I average about 2-3 times a day and have an awesome girlfriend but then I am a horny bastard.

...Not touching this one with a ten foot pole. There was NO innuendo in that sentence.

It can be harmful if you want to dedicate towards someone and even that's not guaranteed. Sadly for me, it is.

It's only harmful if you wear barbed wire on your hands or if you do it near children's playgrounds and get caught.

If it got to the point that you replaced human interaction with it.

If that happened, though, I think you've got some problems besides the jacking off.

Ehh, its the kind of thing that I do if I'm "up for it," if you know what I mean.

I am not horny often anyways, though I tend to jerk off more when I'm bored. >.>

But overall, there's nothing wrong with it. and if your guardians think otherwise, well fuck them!

....

errr, I mean don't listen to them.

Only when you do it so much you get dehydrated. Volunteered at a clinic once, turns out it's pretty common and hilarious :D

No, its actually been linked to sexual and mental health... in moderation. its a stand in for guys because our bodies need to get rid of excess fluids. for gals though its basically just for fun and self understanding.

If you (men) don't do it at all, it can actually negatively affect their prostate and increase risk of cancer. I remember reading something on BBC about it.

its possible for guys to not masturbate and still avoid these issues. it can cause self image issues and developmental problems though.

You can grow addicted to it, so it can be harmful. And if you do it the wrong way you can hurt yourself physically, so that way it is harmful to.
Use a moderation of lube and don´t overdo it and it is good for you.

Only like most things where you have too much. Otherwise it's pretty harmless. I mean, it only really involves you. So its not like anyone else is really being affected.

Actually, women can and some have, caused nerve damage to their clitoris because of the way they force multiple orgasms by using vibrators repeatedly on the specific area. The area becomes numb and it doesn't seem to stimulate like it used to, this can last days to weeks or even permanently depending on how 'hard' she was pressing to try and bring about another climax. It's recommended that she stop using the vibrator and allow herself time to rest from masturbation completely until her body gives her natural signals of arousal; and even then, go for a more natural method of release. Waiting and allowing your body (male or female) to build up in arousal can lead to a more satisfying climax and release in the end.

But as people have said, everything in moderation. Masturbation (in moderation) can and is a good thing for men and women to practice, either with themselves or with a partner - commonly known as 'mutual masturbation'. Masturbation is good for the following reasons: Reduces stress, it's a release of sexual tension, is thought to have a positive effect on your immune system, body image, and psychological health; and for men ejaculation helps reduce the risks of prostate cancers.

Masturbating once or twice every few days is usually the norm for most people (though that tends to vary on living situation and relationship status), and allows them time for other things in life instead of the constant pursuit of...well, touching themselves all the time. However, the younger you are (tween/teen years) the more frequently you tend to masturbate and focus more on your sexual urges, since they are just beginning to come about in a big way and you find most of your masturbating sessions are self-discovery on what arouses you and what feels the best.
