Masturbation is in no way harmful. In fact NOT doing it can cause serious psychological and body-image issues
Agreed.

I would also argue that being sexually frustrated will hamper your relations with the opposite sex, romantic/sexual, or otherwise.

I could have sworn I heard that if you didn't masturbate or have sex, you'd just have a wet dream every month or so.... I have yet to start my study into this male phenomenon. I will post an update if/when applicable.
Well, that be the truth me hardy. The be the truth...

Well yes if you do it way to much while in a relationship and the other half feels left out, or if you "tug" to hard and too much you can get skin abrasions or damage tendons....nasty ewww...but its not really pysically harmfull in any other way.

Just like water, masturbation is good for you.

As well as water, it is possible to overdose on masturbation. Luckily this results usually in boner pain and strained relationships due to addiction. Water on the other hand leads to cellular swelling, and eventually cerebral edema, causing death.
And, like water, it's not a possibility to claim it prevents dehydration!

All these people are so very wrong. Masturbation is an incredibly harmful practice. Try having your girlfriend catch you masturbating to pictures of her sister and not get the shit kicked out of you.
This made me giggle, if only for how unbelievably dark and depraved it is, which if anything, are adjectives I'd use o describe myself. Nice one :p

Unless you end up getting it in your eye (in which case, I must congratulate you) then no, it isn't harmful at all.

Personally, I'd rather not, all it does is make my libido flare up which is quite annoying to someone who has a natural lack of interest in anyone in that way. I've tried it in the past but no matter how much I've tried to enjoy it, I'm still indifferent to it, it does nothing for me. As I have said before, the philosophy of sex is more interesting to me than actually performing the deed in any way myself, including masturbation.

So, as such, I'm much more content to not masturbate. I'm in a few ways of the opposite of opinions from those here, but for the same reasons. The libido flare-ups interfere and destabilize my own normal psychological health, and are more a case of irritation than of pleasure. Which is why I rather not masturbate at all.

There is literally ONE bad thing about it.

If you do it too often, it becomes much less intense. Which can suck. So please space your sessions out.

.......That's....pretty much it, really. It's also apparently good for your prostate.

If you're doin' it wrong it can be. I had a friend who worked at a "state school" for the mentally handicapped burden of the state and he told me this story. Certain clients would do it incorrectly and beat the shit out of their genitalia. A state official, who specialized in the matter, had to show them the proper format.

The moral of the story is to beat off correctly and all should be well.

Oh, I forgot to mention this when I was ripping off Cracked; Don't ever use body wash to jerk off. It is soap. Soap dries out your skin.

I found this out the hard way.

OH GOD THE PEELING STILL HAUNTS MY DREAM

Like everything in life: in moderation is usually good, extreme excess is harmful.

There is no "to much" or "to little" as such depends on a personal desire levels and experience. Young ones between 12 and 25 are doing it the most. Those young dogs then it slows again and you go for quality instead of quantity
There absolutely is such a thing as "too much" masterbation. Excessive, frequent, consecutive orgams without replenishment of vital minerals such as saline or extended periods of rest can lead serious health problems: chafing (lotion and lubricant only go so far), exhaustion, dehydration, protein deficiency, gout (and lactic acid buildup), and potentially death.

Granted, these are quite extreme cases. The average person with a reasonable amount of common sense or preservation instinct will stop long before these become severe.

Doing it in public = harmful.
Doing it at work = harmful.
Doing it too frequently = chaffing = harmful.

So I guess the answer is, yes it can be harmful. However, if you're not a moron about it, masturbate away but it's always more fun when you can get someone else to give you an old fashioned.

Do you think masturbation can be harmful to your life even though its a natural function(well with a little help) psychologically and how you act socially(primarily interactions with the opposite sex).
How much is too much or often is too often?(how often do you?)
Should you even? for it can be a real time waster.
When does is go from healthy to bad?(in your opinion)

Edit: I never said physically, but do you think youd be better off doing it every now and then than often everyday(like people usually admit to).
Like having more focus than you would on tasks.
It sure makes me more tired, but that's like doing any exercise. I just need to time it right so I won't be a in a pissy mood later.

Other than that, it's not harmful at all. Just take it in moderation like anything.

Well my eyes have partially melted, my arms bend the wrong way and my hands are hairer than a Werewolf....

OT: Nope, aslong as you're not an idiot about it there is nothing harmful about twisting your pet iguana
