You say it as if I don't know how much I miss the days of splitscreen. Times are changing. LAN is getting kicked out as well, but we have to adapt to it. Shit happens.
So I adapt by not using the local multiplayer when its available, and instead paying for a headset and an additional service on my computer? That sounds an awful lot like having to

doesn't it? ;)

Look, both of us prefer different things. Neither of us is 'right'. You prefer playing on a PC, I prefer the console. Thats what we both enjoy, so there is no point in trying to convince me that I'm not having fun and would be better with a PC.
I actually prefer playing games on consoles...its just that TF2 is at least 10times better on PC then 360. But its my opinion, have fun playing it on the 360.

Eh... It isn't entirely your fault, I think I've been on this site too much, I believe I am starting to see anti-console elitism where there likely is none. It aggrivates me when consoles get treated like the red-headded step-child.

It's true. The 360 version is fun but I got sick and tired of the stock maps a long long time ago. The heart of the game is always getting to play news maps, and you will NEVER have that privilege on xbox live, Bill Gates doesn't trust you enough. :(

It was the same thing with Counter-Strike, the game's success was built on the strength of mouse-technique and community made maps. You can play TF2 with a controller, if you want to, but the experience was designed long ago with mouse-play in mind.

Its alright. I dont really care either way. Most games I will buy on consoles unless my friends are going to play the games with me on PC. I just don't think that you should have to pay for something that is free on another platform which is why I may have seemed like I was shooting down the consoles.

Honestly, if you have to pay for something thats free elsewhere, there is a very big problem there. (Legally of course)

. . . I don't think you've been on the same parts of the site I have, I've seen about equal support (not counting my own PC elitism - but I'm just depressed that I spent $1000 on a gaming rig instead of getting any consoles ;)

The Pandah is right. If you're going to end up paying for something that is already (legally) free, then you have a major malfunction.

Well... I actually play [small]it on... the PS3..[/small]

That embarrassing fact aside, I've still had hours of fun with it. I was more arguing about PC vs Consoles in general:

like PiccolOwned here though, I think it was a case of jumping at PC elitist shadows when they aren't there.

Meh, its alright. I've really come to terms with people on forums jumping to conclusions about others, including myself. I do it as well. No worries. I personally only play about 3 games on my computer. TF2, CS:S, and WCIII custom games with friends. Thats about it...everything else is console.

I think it seems like a good idea. Why the hell are 95% of these responses talking about getting for the PC? I thought this was about the game not what system is superior. This is turning into a PC glorification thread.

You can hook up a 360 controller to a PC.

Well you obviously didn't read the rest of the thread...or even see what my post was getting at.

Here is a little Disclaimer for anyone else that decides to read this thread. I am not glorifying the PC in any way. My original post was to point out the fact that paying for any sort of content updates to the Xbox 360 version of TF2 is absolute ludicrous considering the fact that you can get the same game, with FREE updates on the PC. Its insanity.

Regardless of what you prefer, its still outrageous to have to pay money for something that is free elsewhere.

Besides, you can hook up a controller to your computer anyway. So that is no longer an excuse.
How about the fact that not everyone has a steam account?

How about the fact that not everyone has a computer capable of running TF2.

How about the fact that not everyone wants to pay 60 bucks for a second copy of the game. (I do not own a Steam account so if there is a way to get it for free without Pirating I am unaware of it.)

Honestly so what if we pay for it. We buy Treyarchs new map packs every 2 and a half months and if we have enough money to buy that we shouldn't be worried about paying 10-15 bucks for a huge set of updates and new maps.

First off, a steam account is free, unlike an XBL Gold Membership account(PSN is free as well, but you'll see where I'm going with this)

60 bucks? More like 20 bucks. Team Fortress 2 cost just that. I'm sure there have been plenty of sales as well where it was marked down even lower than that since Steam actually sells game for ridicuously low prices to help out the customers.

And if you don't have a computer capable of running TF2, then I feel bad for you. TF2 is capable of running on very low-end computers contrary to popular belief.

I also don't buy Treyarchs new map packs every 2 and a half months because I don't need to needlessly spend 15 dollars on some maps that I'll play once.

Please, don't attack me again. I will bite back.

They said that TF2 can on low end computers.
My laptop was low end
.: I should have looked into trying to see if it worked.

WoW ran at 14 FPS for me at the very best of times.
FPS requires good FPS and a not shit connection.
.: I'll play it on the console, kthx

The same amount of cases where TF2 ran fine on a low-end computer, I also saw not run on a high-end computer.

Just because water is free from a faucet, when the only faucet is in the middle of nowhere, I feel like living in the town and drinking bottled water, along with other choices of drink, is a better idea. Doesn't mean that my bottled water shouldn't be able to taste as good as the faucet.

TF2 on a console
TF2 is a first person shooter - that's a PC genre. Just get the PC version.

TF2 runs really easy on even a low-end computer.

And you can buy a decent computer for the same amount of money you would have spent on your RROD-O-Matic.

I think that this seems like a fairly solid idea, assuming of course that microsoft arent a bunch of greedy bastards, which they are. then there's the problem of the ps3 version, which has essentially been dropped altogether...
