No, it is not wrong to feel emotion for characters. Their sickness is a plot device and if it didn't effect you it would be pointless. Also, no offence but the grammar in your post was terrible. Pretty much. There'd be no point in having anything even vaguely emotional in fiction if this weren't the case.
