Everyone knows there are tone of games revolving around WW2 (where you single-handedly win the war and kill enough nazis to make the german people an endangered species), but are there still original ideas that can came from whis war good enough to make a great game?

I am INCREDIBLY bored of WW2 games. It's practically a fail-safe option for those who can't think of anything original.

World War 2 is a format for braindead developers who can't come up with characters, stories, or settings of their own.

So they make WW2 games.

I want a WW2 tank game, based entirely around the crew of one Panther tank. It would be great. The first mission would be about rolling through Poland and the middle would be Russia, and the end would be retreating through the streets of Berlin. It'll never get made though, as nobody would want to play as the evil losers.

As Velvet Assassin was not a good game, no, I am not describing Velvet Assassin.

Assassin's Creed meets WWII = Good Game.
No more FPS games though, please.

Genuine Question: Is Velvet Assasin open-ended in the same way as Assasin's Creed? If so, it could have a lot of potential. If not, it will probably be a lousy "Generic 3rd Person Stealth Game Template"

Well WWII is fun. But now that CoD did a great Pacific theater it's done. Unless we start making games that you watch through the axis side it's done. Now it's on to Nam! COME ON I WANNA SEE NAM!!!! :D

And Assassins creed is?
At least some people (myself included) think AC is a good game, whereas VA is called bad by almost everyone.

Call of Duty WaW didn't really do anything for me, I felt no connection to the characters. There's nothing left for the WW2 franchises.

Yes incredibly over done and every WW2 game seems to be the same.
I'd like to play from the 'bad guys' point of view just because it's different from being either British or Americans all the time.

There needs to be a WWII games about regular Germans. Not Nazis or SS. Just average joe German soldiers. D-Day from a defensive perspective would be fun until the mission ends and you get the retreat cut scean.

I would like to see a game were you play as a Nazi and get to see their side of the shit.

Cuz you can only kill THAT many Nazis. But there is plenty of American blood left...
