Newry's the city, btw. Apparently this effect is when people go across the border to get cheaper prices, which happens every day in Newry because it's so close to the border and has 2 big shopping centres.

My hometown has a Roald Dahl museum because he was born nearby or something. Not much really, but we have an annual Roald Dahl parade themed after one of his books which is kinda cool for the young kids.
