This is hilarious and amazing. Stock prices usually go down after a major reveal (it happened to Apple with the iPad for crying out loud), but Sony's stock going up? If that's not an indication that Microsoft's conference was bad, I don't know what is.Bernzz said:I just wanna point out that this happened:

And as for blocking used games? And really, their entire reveal? Sony's won this generation, hands fucking down.
No it hasn't. Wired speculated that it'll block reusing discs in order to enable play from the hard drive, MS has not in any way confirmed this, except to say that it will be possible to play without inserting the disc.Shameless said:According to This [http://www.computerandvideogames.com/407912/microsoft-confirms-pre-owned-fee-for-xbox-one/] article.
The new xbox will require a fee for you to play pre-owned games...
Oh fuck off Microsoft !
Not to mention the unprecedented partnership EA has with wii U.j-e-f-f-e-r-s said:EA dropped their Online Pass system, and now it turns out that the new Xbox is going to charge for used games as standard.ToastiestZombie said:Isn't it a bit fishy that the new of EA partnering with Microsoft is in such close proximity to this news? I smell a conspiracy.
I fucking knew something like this was in the works.

"Microsoft did say that if a disc was used with a second account, that owner would be given the option to pay a fee and install the game from the disc, which would then mean that the new account would also own the game and could play it without the disc."
Microsoft did not disclose what the second-user fee would amount too, and did not clarify further on the matter.
Except the article is full of shit. They didn't actually ask MS, they went off the Wired article, which says no such thing.boradam said:Quote from the article: "Microsoft did say that if a disc was used with a second account, that owner would be given the option to pay a fee and install the game from the disc, which would then mean that the new account would also own the game and could play it without the disc."Requia said:No it hasn't. No shit, I'm ASTOUNDED. I thought Sony dropping PS3 BC with the PS4 was stupid, but MS is basically charging used games, not having BC, AND making it so your digital game purchases won't transfer. Oh, but you get to keep your GAMERSCORE! Seriously, fuck this. Looks like Nintendo is in a prime position for this fall.j-e-f-f-e-r-s said:As I said in the Live Reveal thread, just looks like this three horse race got knocked down to two.
The conference was pretty terrible in general, and this is the last thing they needed on top of it. If they're actually going to go down the route of trying to get people to pay a fee to play used games, then they've taken themselves out of the console race. No-one's going to pick up a console if they can't play second-hand games on it.
I agree with what you said except that none of these things are pluses. Nintendo is just wining because they are doing the job they are supposed to be doing adequately while Microsoft is doing poorly. Its like rewarding them for doing the bare-minimum.j-e-f-f-e-r-s said:They're not blocking used games, have free online multiplayer, and are focusing on games over America-only TV services.Dexter111 said:How cute, you still think that Nintendo remains in the race. <3 xDj-e-f-f-e-r-s said:As I said in the Live Reveal thread, just looks like this three horse race got knocked down to two.
They're more in the race than Microsoft at this point. Microsoft has not just shat all over the non-US consumerbase, they've shat over any gamer who ever thinks of buying a game second hand. Nintendo look like fucking saints compared to this. Sony will as well as long as they don't allow publishers to pull any DRM shenanigans on PS4.
