Another problem with capitalism that’s not typically visible is the institution that’s supposed to regulate it is too compromised to competently do so.

Basically, it’s also ok to be angry about the governments who abuse and violate constituents’ trust and support to further their own wealth at the expense of everyone else. Greed is a bipartisan agenda, because stupidity is an innately human trait.

They're just, like, turning them into robots, man, you know? The man just can't handle free thinkers like us.
Well, being that's about as close as an "oh shit, I didn't think about that" as anyone on this forum ever has gotten or will get from you, I'll take it.

You may continue culture war henpecking in the face of vastly more deeply-rooted societal problems than "shitty Christian-run chicken restaurant does stupid thing" as means of avoidance.

Hmm, I've thought about it, just in the context of relevant topics.

You may continue culture war henpecking [...]
The idea that the National curriculum is corrupting our kids' moral values, & we should homeschool 'em to raise proper freethinkers is prime culture war henpecking, which is sort of exactly why I'd like to steer clear.

Openly corrupt California privatised water industry being the largest in the world, company towns, pistachios in competition with Iran, expensive whitewashing PR campaigns, poisoned residents, the whole dark end point of free market ideology collected in one barren bleak place.

Conspiracy theories about weather control and the California Drought don't hold a candle to the grim reality: a cabal of wealthy farmers controlling California's water and committing ecocide. We speak to Yasha Levine and Rowan Wernham about their upcoming documentary, Pistachio Wars, a damning exposé of The Wonderful Company and the billionaire couple behind it: Lynda & Stewart Resnick.
