Mushrooms. I hated mushrooms (by themselfs at least), but then we found some morel mushrooms around the house. God they're good. They tast just like beef! Now I'm trying to grow them.

There is a plant that taste like beef? And you can grow this plant Why are there people still pondering the meaning of life or debating the existence of God? THERE IS A PLANT THAT TASTE LIKE COW MEAT!

OT: This is going back a long while, but RPG's I used to despise RPG's but then I played Morrowind and I've loved them ever since. On the flip side I used to mmorpg's but now I despise them.

To be fair, they are a bit hard to come by/grow, you do need to use a lot of mushrooms to make a burger, they shrink a bit worce than cow meat, and mushrooms are a fungus not a plant.(Sorry to be such a categorical Nazi, but I couldn't help myself, again sorry.) And, Dawkins was a bit of a dick at times.

Also I didn't really like shooters until I got the Orange Box.

Racists, when i was young i was like you guys and hated them, then i met some and i laugh so hard. I mean god, its like a living stand up comedy act, I don't understand how you guys can get so angry at the mentally disabled, just enjoy them.

Cars, I didn't like them as a kid because they were big and loud and polluting, but now i have one and its so much easier to rob banks.

Similar to your story, I used to hate coffee but it's growing on me (I predicted this would happen though so I've never completely dismissed it).

Watched Blade Runner a few years ago. Hated it. Watched it again last week. Loved it.

I used to hate dubstep.

Then I listened to some and now I love it.

Depends on which kind of dubstep you're talking about. Dubstep dubstep or shitty fake american 'dubstep' (I can fucking feel that rare British patriotism burning inside me)

Anyways, my thing is beans. Used to hate them with a passion, now I love them. Can't beat some good 'ol mash and beans. Accompanying cup of tea mandatory of course.

I don't think I'll ever come around to liking mashed potatoes though. Maybe I'm not Irish at all, what if I'm adopted?

Growing up, I hated beer because of all the negativity that came with drinking (i.e. drunken behavior, sickness, rowdy and violent behavior, impaired judgment, etc.), and so me and my friend thought that we would never drink when we were older.

However, once we took our first sip of Newcastle, everything changed. We both enjoy beer now, but we always drink responsibly (despite our families trying to get us wasted).

I grew up 'hating' some of the dishes and baked goods my mother always cooked for us.

One of the baked goods I hated all my life were sausage balls. Then I re-read Anne McCafferey's Dragonrider series where the characters were always eating 'meat rolls' and I tried the sausage balls for the first time since I was a kindergartener--they were delicious!

I still don't care for some of the dishes she makes, but I've been more open minded ever since.

Recipe: Very Good and ridiculously simple. Ask me if you want it and I'll post it.

Count me in on the tea loving party here. I never drank tea and was never big on iced tea, but I've been drinking tea daily ever since a Teavana opened at the mall. Now that I've had the fresh stuff, I can never drink store-bought tea ever again.

I also used to be an EXTREMELY picky eater, to the point where no 2 foods could ever be brought together. I liked macaroni, I liked hamburgers, but a pox on your house for serving me Hamburger Helper! Yeah, I had some really odd food ADD or something. Now I'll eat just about anything and the more I can mix and match, the better!

All my life I have hated tea. Living in Ireland, I was a severe disappointment to my family and was frequently shamed and ridiculed. Rather than joining the crown to please others, however, I refused to give in to the pressure and continued to abstain from drinking the beverage. Eventually my family grew to accept me and soon all was forgotten and I maintained that tea was the most yucky substance to have ever been invented.


Recently, however, I was forced to drink a cup of tea as there was no coffee available and I was in desperate need of a hot drink and, to my disgust, I enjoyed it. Now I am a regular tea drinker, often having more than one cup a day. As I type this, I am sipping away at a lovely mug of Barry's Tea and it is delicious.

I haven't told my family yet because I don't think I could cope with the endless wave of 'I told you so's they are going to assault me with.

Anyway, back to the point of the thread.

Is there anything that you used to dislike but have recently come around to. It could be food, music, actors, films, ideas or anything.

I know this thread has been done before but wa'eva, I do what I want.

My situation is the same as yours. I live in Ireland and have been pressured into drinking that demon drink my whole life. There was a stage where I was been asked 6 times a day if I wanted a cup of tea. Haven't broken yet but my situation is hopeless. I could get beaten up for not liking tea by my mum

Then, well, I basically ended up as a minor politician. At least, I was the head of a minor political party and all I ever did, ever was talk about politics.

Strangely, I also used to hate druggies and think they were pathetic. Then I became one. The two changes coincided.

Now I am neither. Neither leading a political party, nor taking stupidly large amounts of drugs. I like this happy medium.

Although I intend to start leading a small political party again. But not the drugs. Christ no.

OT: It used to be tomatoes, hated them. I would always make a fuss about it, picking them out of salads and whatnot. Then I discovered they are absolutely delicious with some salt and pepper sprinkled on top. Now I can't get enough.
