Can we just stone Jacko to death please? The world would be a better place without him. Or here's a better idea: tiger pit at a gaming convention. Preferrably PAX, SGC or TGC. E3 just doesn't have the power it did before.
Well, let's see what happens this year at E3, the convention is supposed to be going back to its original roots.

[OT] I've had it with this Anti-christ of the gaming world. I may be pushing it with this comment but if anyone has the money and is willing to pony it up, I'll gladly shoot him! XD

Thought #1. In the old days we just stoned people to death who won the lottery, and those who were determined to be witches.

Thought #2. Jack Thompson could easily be branded as a witch.

Thought #3. The old days were better.

Thought #4. Let's bring them back.
OK, all in favor of The_Oracle as the next president of the United States of America say "aye"

G_d...I know we don't talk much anymore, I could be a better Jew than I am now, I have tried.
Really, I have.
Please..if you are really there....Drop a bus on this man.
I would like to add my voice to Danzorz... and petition you for a second bus if at all possible. I'd even settle for a TV falling on him sir.

I think Nilcypher summed it up well: Every generation needs a Skeletor.
ill take your second bus and raise you a lightning bolt!!!!

Okay, am I the only one thinking this?

Brownies for the people that get it immediately...

Prepare for trouble,
And make it double...
To encourage store failings,
By disbarring good ratings.
To force their hand through ill refute,
And yell and scream with any dispute!
Jackie!
Thompson!
Screwing with laws to get my way!
Come on kiddies, let's go play!

Schwarzenager, He's back...

Oh, oh...and this!

Jack Thompson is blasting off agaaaaaain!!!....

Okay Thompson THATS IT! You have gone bat shit. What they really need to do is pass a bill signifying video games as an art form to help protect them from this ignorant bullshit, also a bill that will force jack to shut the fuck up would be nice!, the man clearly has an obsession over this hole thing, something personal must of happened to him to piss him off so much
my guess is pong killed his brother

>Knightguy123 Dude, please stop with the multi-posting. Just edit new thoughts into old posts if nothing comes after yours.

And yes, Jack Thompson was disbarred for exactly this sort of thing. His persistance is a lesson to cartoon villains the world over.

Stop, just...just stop.

I would now like to apologize on behalf of all Americans for bring letting Jack Thomson's parents mate.

We're so very sorry.

Does he really think that he can pull the wrath of the FBI down on anyone? And what civil right of his is being violated? I can't think of one. He needs to go away, now.

He fails at life. He needs a new hobby. The trying to ban video games hobby is a bust.

Anti-Game bill is a little bit off the mark there isn't it? All the bill covered was, in your own words, "a bill that would impose harsh penalties on game retailers that claimed they would not sell mature games to minors but did anyway."

Surely this is would be a good bill to have in place, it would stop 10 year olds playing games they shouldn't, for example GTA IV, at the very least it might reduce the amount of brats I would have to put up with online.
The problem is that it is not binding. Basically, you have to claim not to sell these games to kids for it to have any power over you. If the store is worried about bad employees or anything, really, they simply won't agree, as the bill can't be enforced. If they don't agree, they can sell as many M rated games as they want to kids, and never get in trouble for it. Because the current system is more of an optional thing (like the movie's ratings), people are more willing to follow it, knowing that the people who put the ratings out there are just trying to help us know what's going on in the game/movie (well, the ESRB are idiots, but that's besides the point).

The problem with the games industry is that people still hold the idea that kids get M rated games on their own all the time, when in reality the games industry had the best percent of not allowing kids to buy games outside their age-range (when compared ot movies and music). The kids who do get these games are usually given them by stupid parents, or parents who understand the system and believe their child is mature enough for these games.

On a mostly-unrelated note: "Jack Thompson and the Government of Utah" sounds almost like an awesome fantasy novel, doesn't it? The intrepid ex-lawyer braving a harsh and untamed land - kind of like Conan the Barbarian, only with less naked chicks.
To be fair to the guy, he'd almost instantly file a lawsuit to have the book banned for being indecently boring, repetitive and turning up emailing people's mothersscreaming nonsense.
