Hold on hold on hold on. If someone was trying to train to kill American soldiers (God forbid) they can only do it if the guys in the game look like American soldiers? So... if they were training and they were playing as the Americans, it wouldn't work? Or maybe he doesn't realize that people shoot at targets? Ugh... I thought we were done with this guy and I thought that he was done with just being annoying.

And good luck stopping an entire production like this. It's not like what they're doing is illegal.

It doesn't matter what he says about gaming. He's getting our attention, is he not? And besides, saying "I hope you die" is just proving his point... when will gamers as a whole realize that? Sending death threats to someone who spends their life trying to prove gaming will make people violent only proves his point and makes all of us look bad.

While I probably (hell, almost certainly) won't be buying this instalment of MoH, it won't be because one of the teams for multiplayer is the Taliban. It'll be because the entire game sounds like it's trying to latch onto the success of MW/MW2. And, given that it's a modern FPS, will take about 45 minutes to finish...

i just thought of something. what if jack thompson really doesnt hate videogames but is sort of like a professional asshole who makes a big stink about a particular video game so it will get a lot of controversy and thus a lot of free advertising and thus make a lot of money?

You've obviously never heard of the quickly growing industry of Professional Trollz. For a price they will go forth and troll what ever you desire and raise whatever level of shit storm you have paid for. I think Thompson might be gunning for his former position as employee of the month now that Atkinson seems to have gone quietly into the night.

Probably, considering that this is the first video game thing he's done in a few years.
The guy had plenty of opportunities. Hate to play devils advocate but I hate when people blindly take one side of an argument. The guy isn't nuts, just irrational and lets be honest, old fashioned. It's easy for us to say it's wrong what he's doing but you have to understand that he came from a time where being a good person was supposed to be everyone's goal, it wasn't but that's probably the world he lived in true or not. Now he sees gang violence everywhere (not really but the way the news reports it like it is makes a lot of people assume crime has been on the rise) and he sees children playing realistic (to him) looking "simulations" where they can shoot cops and innocent people. He made the connection between a violent world and violent games, just like we make crazy illogical connections every day.
We were able to gradually grow into this world, he was hit with it pretty suddenly. He doesn't want to let go of the world he loved and we probably won't either when we are old and the world around us is changing.
I don't agree with the guy but I don't hate him either. You understand a lot more when you look at both sides of the issue instead of just looking at your side and glancing at the other through video game related news sites.

Dude, we need to meet up, I think of the EXACT same things.
