If he had painted all of his kits then they would be worth ALOT more. There are professionally finished kits going for auction on E-Bay for over $500 and they cost only about $60 out of the box. Any kit that has been painted properly goes up in value significantly.
I saw someone nearly tear off a shop assistant's arm because he 1) didn't ask the owner's permission before picking up the model and 2) didn't pick it up by the base (anyone who has gotten into quite serious wargaming will know that this is a horrendous offense because of all the grease on a standard human finger) in one place when I was still addicted to wargames.
That assistant didn't do that again in a hurry.

well, if you pour kerosene all over your room and light it with the intent of killing YOURSELF as well as your mother, only to have yourself escape from the fire in your own room that you lit, i don't think your committing suicide.. or atleast not doing it right. you would think that the man might have gotten some on himself.. but as long as captain looney and his mom are alright, that's all you can ask for.

Otaku commits arson? Well some people are devoted enough fans to things to get angry over things like this. If they are what he would refer to as his prize possessions I can understand completely. If my Mam threw out my prized possession I would be very pissed as well.
i don't know how much his investment was worth...but on december 27,2008...i lost or had stolen,or threw away 21,800 dollars in cash..and i did not have insurance...till this day i have not found the money...i had saved it since 1978,plus added to it all these years to accumulate that amount...it's very sad...i actually had my heart broken too,when i lost my dads building..it broke my heart and i could not lose the feelings,so i got drunker than i had done in 20 years and that's when the money was lost....life is worth more than money,although our diplomats and bankers feel differently and that's why money is so important,because everything has become so expensive by the thieves at the top.
