Okay, I've known about Hatsune Miku for a while, and some of the music composed with Vocaloid that's on YouTube is actually kind of cool (for someone who likes Anime music, anyway; most people think that stuff is shit and I don't blame them), but a live performance? It's a fucking computer program!

Okay, prediction coming in from the psychic aether: When mankind goes extinct due to the invention of realistic virtual coitus, Japan's gonna be the first to go.

This could be a great technology. Perhaps this use is a "tad" limited.

Honestly though, I want one of these projectors. I could use it for home defense.

This is pretty cool. To all those who thinks "it's not their cup of tea", replace Miku with "The Goddamed Batman" or Joker...

See, you're getting the awesome now, aren't you? :)

Sooner or later we will have Vehicles like in Starwars...

Think of hologram games or films... My god
What? Holograms have been in use by serious companies for at least two or three years.

Also, heard about her some time ago, tried listening to the music, can't handle it. But I guess I must be an idiot waving glowsticks in front of a giant screen with virtual idol to like it.

So... basically what gorillaz did?

Gorillaz is actually 2 people "behind" the made-up band members. They make the music and they sing, with a bunch of guest stars helping out in some songs.

I'm sure i read somewhere that a laser weapon has been invented, but it's only lethal at close range, or something stupid like that.

I'm used to Japanese perculiarities but that was still creepy in many ways.

Technology is rather awesome though.

Thank you Mr. Tayler for devining this 10 years ago!

Also, read the entire webcomic. It will take you a while, but it is super worth it, and don't mind the early art, it gets better, I promise.

Go back another 4 years. William Gibson hit this with Idoru [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idoru].
1994. Macross Plus [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWUb04t6_ws&feature=related].
That's exactly what I was thinking of when I saw this. Um...does this mean it's gonna fall in love with a human male and try to take over the world as well?!

Well that was fun. Certainly something mindless and fun to brighten up my day. I should be saying this isn't good and it could potentially harm the industry but I'd be lying if I said I didn't like it.

Also one thing's for sure for everyone here, that this shit will be stuck in your head until THE END OF DAYS.

Shouldn't we have seen this coming after the Gorillaz.

It was awesome though.
I want them to replicate the battle between Gin and Ichigo now. (Bleach)

I care less about the concert and whatever the hell a "Hatsune Miku" is but more about how good that hologram looks (No! Not that like that you twat.) I mean, it's a impressive bit of tech. Is it not?

Are they sitting down? Lame, j-pop is general is just crap. This actually saddens me, do people not actually want to see performers any more, are they happy to simple hear a pre recorded song played by a fictional character under the pretense of it being live?

Also how many nerds will be fapping to this one?

Sorry but seeing a CGI anime styled person wouldn't be the sort of thing I'd pay to go see sing, it'd be the sort of thing I'd run away from.

I know she's past the uncanny valley, but still. Seeing her on the same dimensional plane as myself, would probably freak me out.

On the technical side, that's pretty cool how we can make holograms perform for people, and the tech is really solid if it can keep her looking, well really solid, instead of flickering. We're another step closer to the future, ah yeah!
Wonder how long it'll take before the technology can be used at home... and porn.
