Tanaka did write that Korean culture was very big in her country right now and that she and her friends were merely trying to get in on the Korean "boom."
Using her logic, I could get in on the African-American boom by going blackface. Does she not know what racism is?

Could be a gigantic publicity stunt.
If so then it worked wonders. I'm sure one or two of us, if not many more, will beheading to YouTube or Google Video right now and eventually hear her music.

Doesn't honestly strike me as racism in anything more than a wink-wink-nudge-nudge joking sort of way. Overreaction much?

Japan has laws and ethics? If anything, I was surprised they didn't make a porn number on the subject yet.

Apart from how ignorant it is to make Hitler appear friendly... at least he didn't drop an atomic bomb on them. Twice.

To everyone wondering why this is a big deal, does no one remember that Miley Cyrus is banned from China for doing the same thing?

The Hitler thing? I dunno about that, but the Japanese's view of Koreans is kinda like American's view of people from Mexico and South America.
I'm suprised there's been that much backlash from this. I suppose this IS the West's view on the matter, though.
Thats crap because South Korea is basically Japan with a powerful military. Are you sure Canada is the word you were looking for? Maybe its how Canadians view Americans?

Morning Musume? Didn't know they were still around. I used to listen to them, I guess the line up may have changed a bit since them though.

Bah, I was just typing something here about how Miley Cyrus did something similar to the whole "slanty eyed" having failed to notice the post by sheic99 saying the exact same thing. I blame the sight of Heavy Weapons Guy riding a winged edible device for the distraction.

I wonder, at what point does cultural commentary become racism???
It's almost become the equivalent of being accused of being a communist back in the 60's or a witch during the Salem Witch Trials.

This didn't seem too bad until the Hitler bit.

Christ on a bicycle, what were they thinking, getting the kids to worship Hitler? Surely nobody thinks that could ever turn out well.
I don't know, its making me want to look up and listen to these guys music. They sound like fun.

Yeah, maybe they do need a certain type of sensitivity training...

The Korean part actually doesn't seem as bad as the Hitler one, since it's possible it was just a misunderstanding.
