I haven't played Final Fantasy VI, but hopefully it gets a US release on the PSN. Now Final Fantasy IV was a damn fine game, and hopefully it gets the same treatment... even though I have it for my SNES.

First off, as to whether or not I like this game?

The KoD in my name stands for KING OF DOMA.

Yeah.

Second off, people, here's a good chance to vote with our wallets, people... if we buy this game by the truckload, it will send a message to Square that games like THIS are what we're looking for when we think good FF games
Or it'll just show Square that they should release more of their older games on the PSN.
Oh, lord, I had no realization of the implications... they might make a 3D release of CHRONO TRIGGER!

*throws up in his mouth a little*

F-... forget I said anything... ;_;

It's tied with FFX for my favorite game in the series

Your point? It's supposed to be an awkward scene. FFX is stellar.
Yeah, but it DEFINITELY wasn't the only occurrence of absolutely horrid voice acting in that game. I'd say I enjoyed most of the english voice acting, but Tidus and Yuna, the two main characters, were just SO off-putting every time they said anything.

I dunno, if it had a japanese with english subs option, I'd take it in a heartbeat. The game was fine, the story was a little weird (but what FF isn't), but the pure, unadulterated cheesiness of the dialogue/voice acting ruined the game a bit for me.

On the other hand, blitzball is probably the greatest in-game minigame ever conceived. I'm pretty sure I spent about as much time on blitz as I did the main game.

Just cause its supposed to be that doesn't make it go down any smoother, or make us hate Tidus any less. Its like saying you fell down a ski slope and broke your arm on purpose. Well done, now you have poor judgement instead of poor coordination.
No, actually, it doesn't make me hate Tidus any more. Honestly, he's the best protagonist in a Final Fantasy since Terra and Locke.

This leaves Final Fantasy IV as the sole PS1 Final Fantasy (in the two anthology collections, that is - they were originally SNES titles) to have not made the jump to PSN. Something tells me that it won't be far behind.
It's coming out in 2 days =D At least I think its coming to PSN, regardless I'm getting the UMD version for my psp.

Also I agree with you, FF6 is by far my favourite as well. I really like Dissidia Final Fantasy's 3D take and voice acting of Kefka, it's a real laugh and kinda captures the madness.

He doesn't even qualify as the damn protagonist, its Yuna.
It's narrated by Tidus... Also Tidus wins big points for not being a brooding emo child.
