Japan's Life-Sized Gundam to Make a Return

Really hope the Gundam stays up. That's something I have on my list of things I need to see before I die.

And yes John. Eastern mechs are vastly superior to Western mechs. More stylish too.

Gurren Lagann can only be powered by the man with the greatest amount of manly spirit in the world so there's always a chance they won't be able to make it work. And also, we're lucky in the fact that that man is me.

I'd rather have a new Gundam be built but having the Classic Gundam in Shizuoka will be sweet.

So have they tried bringing that thing to life yet?

Not completely, only the head moves and the exhaust smoke spills through the chest vents. I think the arm and torso move as well but it doesn't walk.

Last I heard they were having trouble working out how to get a bipedal model working without overbalancing/overweight issues crushing the ground it walked on. They were looking into a quadruped version. Perhaps something less along the lines of a Gundam and moer of a Mobile Armour, or an Armored Core [http://media.photobucket.com/image/armored%20core/ngeekhiong4/TMD_ArmoredCore_04.jpg] (though I don't have a source for that. I remember reading it years ago, so technology might have changed to make such an assertion obsolete).

Well if the result of nuking a country is that they become some of the coolest people on the planet (which the japanese are) then I say NUKE EVERYONE! Then maybe the world can get on with less fighting and more building of giant anime charcaters. It would be a much better place.

Ok on refelction we might end up like the Easter Islanders... with people from the future discovering our starving corpses next to decaying giant robot statues... but it would be worth it.

I'd shit my pants if they made a life sized Sazabi, one of the most bad ass looking "real mecha's" ever.

It would be cool if they did some life sized super robots too. Seeing a life sized Big O or Gurren Lagann would be pretty sick.

Sazabi is way sexy. Have you seen Sinanju yet? It's based off of Sazabi.

Something this cool should be made to stand tall through the ages, so that in the distant future after humanity has all but wiped itself out in nuclear war and our distant descendants (after rebuilding) unearth the remains in an archeological dig they can label it as one of the gods that their ancestors must have worshiped.

Although this may be my Frankenstein Complex talking, but I have the feeling this is like the "display model" like you see in electronic stores/warehouses, (Y'know, the ones with just the outside covering and no guts inside) and that there's a real one being developed right now.
