As in reach a settlement? As in Jim admits to some degree of fault and they settle for only 1 trillion dollars?
Hmmm, that's kind of hard to tell. Then again, Robert posted a video about the lawsuit from Monday, February 13th, which was quickly set to private without anyone getting that video, in which he was bragging about the lawsuit, continues to accuse Jim of defamation, and that his brother is going to win it. For those who might not know about this, here is the discussion from reddit that talks about it:

https://www.reddit.com/r/JimSterling/comments/5tvdk9/digital_homicide_aka_loot_toot_rambles_about_jim/

According to one of the users, Robert says the following quote near the end of the video which something like "stay tuned 'cause you don't want to miss what's coming".

So my guess is that either the Romines are just being cocky here or they believe that something will happen. But that's just my speculation though and we might find out what this resolution is on this week. Plus, I highly doubt that the amended complaint from Romine shows any faults to Jim as far as I can see.

I can see the headlines now. "James Romine dies in court today as he says to Jim Sterling 'if you don't give up, I'll hold my breath until I die, and you'll go to jail for being a big meanie.' The judge then called for a recess and left Mr. Romine in the courtroom alone. When they returned, all that was left was an asphyxiated corpse, and a poorly written note saying 'tak that!'"

Jimsaw Killer suspected of foul play, Jim Sterling continues to deny accusations of being the Jimsaw Killer. Jimsaw Killer leaves note in courtroom saying "Are you fucking serious? You think I would've just strangled the guy?"

Judge examines evidence and confirms that Jim's dildo is longer than three feet.

Locals outside thank god for Jim.

Cornflake Homunculus continues to claim that it "should not be."

Why? I thought Lettucehead's amended complaint was quickly tagged with the equivalent of "What the fuck is this mess?"

Looks like Jim's lawyers are talking to James Romine directly and trying to work out a deal.
They asked for the time to conclude those negotiations (and probably review the new paperwork).
So the judge seems to basically going "sure, if a little extra time means all this goes away without any more time in court... I'll give you that extra time".

And if it all goes pear shaped, Jim's lawyers file their formal response and things continue with the judge ruling on the new complaint. Either way, a win-win for the judge.

Jim seems to had responded to the matter in this tweet https://twitter.com/JimSterling/status/833114662606602240

"Seeing some speculation about this - no talks that may be happening have entertained the notion of me paying money to any accuser. None."

I don't think Jim is going to settle anything until the Judge's decision, but I believe that these talks of "Settlement" may spawn from Jim's message from the last Jimquisition where he responded to Romine's new complaint and Romine took it "too literal" .... again.

I hadn't seen the tweet, but I'll take it on face value.

"Deal" doesn't have to mean money. Although, I was assuming that the "deal" was going to be something along the lines of "Jim doesn't want to be vindictive... If you drop the case, he'll refund your patreon donations so you can say a settlement was reached and you can still have some dignity". Beyond that is the scale and tone of Jim's post court case coverage.

I'd still really like to think that he'd take the moral high ground and just go "it's done, DHS have drop their case and I don't want to make a bad situation worse for James Romine and his family. The matter is settled to my satisfaction and as far as I'm concerned that is an end to it".

Sadly, based on Jim's hints and tone recently - I think a really big hatchet job of the whole DHS and James Romine situation, both on YouTube and Jim's website is the more likely. There's a lot of rabid people out there who already sense blood in the water and Jim can grow his business by producing content to feed them. Which is not to say James Romine and DHS deserve much of anything for what they've done and tried to do - it just feels icky to kick a guy when he's already down and out.

I was basing my speculation on KoalaMan412's post, further up this thread.

Here is the full text from the document:

Defendant James Stanton moves the Court for an order extending his time to respond to
Plaintiff's Amended Complaint One? [Doc. 37] for seven (7) days, to and including February
24, 2017. The current response deadline is February 17, 2017.

In support of this motion Defendant states that Defendant's attorney and Plaintiff have
been in regular contact since February 9, 2017, regarding the allegations of the Amended
Complaint One and potential resolution of the same. Counsel believes the parties are close to
resolving the issues and that if a resolution can be reached it will be reached this week. If the
parties are unable to resolve this matter Defendant will file a response to the Amended
Complaint One? by February 24, 2017.

Undersigned counsel has personally conferred with Plaintiff James Romine regarding
this motion and he has given his consent to the requested extension.

A proposed order is submitted herewith.

The latest update says "STIPULATION of Dismissal With Prejudice by James Nicholas Stanton.". Not entirely sure what that means, but it seems like Jim is going for Dismissal with Prejudice? I'm not entirely sure what a "Stipulation" is in a legal context, though. Could someone fill me in?

Romine has promised to no longer pursue the case and to no longer file DMCA takedowns, and both sides agree to pay their respected lawyer fees. Romine has conceded defeat.

So...it's over? At long last it's over? Feels a bit anticlimactic, really.

Actually considering DigiHom half/asses all the time, this anti-climatic ending is kinna fitting of them. Here, in Puerto Rico, we have a say: "Tanto nadar, para morir en la Orilla!" (All that Swimming, only to die on the Shore")

Thank God it's over, I knew Jim was going to pull through, but I always had this gnawing fear in the back of my head that he wouldn't due to how fucked the US legal system is when it comes to suing someone. But all well that ends well, now time to wait for that very special Jimquisition episode to wrap up this whole saga.....hopefully anyway

Jim has stated on a tweet https://twitter.com/JimSterling/status/834003798024736768 and on his Jimpression of "BERSERK AND THE BAND OF THE HAWK" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RD69bDveE0M That there will be an official response on the site and more there after (likely the special Jimquisition).
