Steam does have an offline mode and I have gotten it to work quite easily. It's not always online as a rule it's just their offline mode apparently has problems for a lot of peoplewooty said:Get rid of the "always online" shit altogether, Ubisoft, Origin.....STEEEEEAAAAAAAM!
Generally it irritates me that single player games need online interaction, Creative Assembly jumping into bed with bloody steam did/has/does/will piss me off a certain degree.
Me too. I remember how incredibly annoying I found him originally, whereas now it makes me laugh my ass off. I think it's because he's learned to take the piss out of himself a little (just a tad).copycatalyst said:I don't always laugh at Jim's hyper-ego persona... but this time, he had me cracked up. Good episode too. Such a shame about how Ubi treats their customers, because they do put out a lot of quality titles.
Don't ever compare Steam to any of these... you can run it in offline mode and run games that you already downloaded... Steam gives indie publishers majority of their sales sir so kindly take back your comment.wooty said:Get rid of the "always online" shit altogether, Ubisoft, Origin.....STEEEEEAAAAAAAM!

How is rayman origins not worth 60 dollars?Sober Thal said:Jim is right, Rayman for $60 was fucking ridiculous.
The day you stop playing Ubisoft games, is the day I can listen to you ***** and fucking moan about them tho.
Cheers!
I avoid those companies too. Same with Capcom (not too hard) & Sony (a little harder since those are the only games that are decent on the ps3).Eomega123 said:Thank Jim for Jim. And yes, would everybody kindly stop bitching on forums and then buying the game anyway? I haven't bought a single EA, Ubisoft, or THQ game since I found out what they were doing, and I've still managed to have a great time with some great games from companies that don't screw over their customers.
that argument does not work.Sober Thal said:I played the demo, and I don't think just another platformer with okay music and a decent amount of levels is worth $60. I was shocked when I saw it on a shelf for so much. With great platformers like Super Meat boy and N+ out there, why try selling a game like Rayman for so much? Hell, even a game with hundreds of hours of content like Disgaea 4 wasn't $60 when it was released over here.rolfwesselius said:How is rayman origins not worth 60 dollars?Sober Thal said:Jim is right, Rayman for $60 was fucking ridiculous.

EDIT: Oh wait, if you don't play them, how can you ***** about them? It's like voting for president... damn my nonsense!
Its a platformer with great music and gameplay and lots of content.
Not enough blood,gore,violence?
Oh yeah you are SOOOOOOO Hardcore.[/sarcasm]
I'm not really a fan of 'must have blood/gore/violence' thing, but I do play a few of them. My library (at least the games I play regularly) is more rated T for teen for the most part.
Oh sorry i thought you meant it was impossible for a 2d game to be worth 60 dollars no matter the content.Sober Thal said:Wait... I'm arguing my taste in games for a certain price with you?rolfwesselius said:that argument does not work.Sober Thal said:I played the demo, and I don't think just another platformer with okay music and a decent amount of levels is worth $60. There are great shooters like section 8 prejeudice being sold for 20 euro's why must call of duty cost 60?
It is a 2d game but that does not diminish it's value.
I thought I was just explaining my thoughts... nvr mnd.
For the record, I didn't like Section 8, and Portal 2 (while still a great game) wasn't worth $60 either. At least Portal 2 sold two copies as one so a friend and I only had to pay $30 each. Also, some of my favorite games are in 2D.
Why are you acting like that?SenseOfTumour said:He has a great point that the ONLY reason Ubisoft and companies like them get to treat us like crap is that so many of us climb into their toilet bowl, waiting to hand over another $60 for them to wipe with.
Every time you buy a game with crappy DRM or other stupidity programmed into its core, you're handing over your money and saying 'Thanks for making the stuff I love worse! Do keep it up!'
