Face it guys, the only thing keeping the PC alive is Steam.
As someone who supposedly claims to enjoy pc gaming you sure have a narrow minded view of "what is keeping it alive" because no, it is not just steam.
I personally enjoy pc gaming for all the options and customizability that comes with the hardware, software and games. Their is vastly
vastly more diversity and personalization with gaming and everything to do with gaming when you play on PC than on consoles.
I like playing games on very high settings at very high frame rates with perfect picture quality, surround sound and the ability to socialize with anyone anywhere, open up other programs, listen to music, podcasts etc etc all in the comfort of my own room.
As for controllers, I use keyboard and mouse when it suits the game. If they do not I use my pc 360 gamepad. I've built my last 3 pcs with custom parts myself as well, which is also a big aspect I feel of what makes pc gaming appealing; you are much more invested in it if you take it to its fullest potential.
But sure, like everyone else I know pc gaming can be a massive hassle and sometimes you just want the simplicity of a console experience so I happily play my ps3 and 360 frequently too.
