Needs more darkness, less parents.
Needs more badass action and less quips.
Needs more quality film making, less garbage.
I have seen garbage, this is no where near that level.
I mean, it doesn't look like garbage that was left out for 6 weeks with used heroin needles and dirty diapers in it like the other DC movies, it looks like when I forget to take out the garbage on Sunday nights.
ASM2 is worse than BVS and MOS combined. That movie gattered me.
Haha, no. ASM2 might have sucked, BUT Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are good actors and have great chemistry together. The scene where they showed off the Spider-Sense was honestly the best live action portrayal of it.

Man of Murder and BvS had literally no redeeming qualities. I know, you're a DC fanboy. So am I. But these DC movies honestly suck donkey dick.
FUCK ANDREW GARFIELD.

I hate that actor and I hate Emma Stone aswell, and I don't care if they were in Academy Award winning movies, becuase so was Ben Affleck and Jaime Foxx.

The chemistry between them was not cute it was cringyworthy fuckery that I could not even look at thier relationship and take it seriously.

My DC fanboy side came because of how much I just think Marvel's heroes are just LAME, most of them are lame characters and even with thier movies I still find them to be lame heroes with lame and derivitive powers. And also almost ALL of them are mutants.

They got all their powers because of being bitten by something or radiation or whatever. Its boring. I mean sometimes I wonder why isn't Spidrerman and Hulk is not enrolled in the X-men class.

And finally these movies are not total donkey dick becuase if you are a DC fan you know these characters have been through worse, you must know about the worse comic books ever written. And don't give me that arguement that Comics and Movies are not the samething? When the movies adapt comic books whole story arcs its pretty much fair to compare the 2.

The chemistry between them is great, which is why they started dating in real life.

Also, mutants are born with powers, they don't get them through accident. Spider-Man is not a mutant, Cyclops is. Hulk is not a mutant, Storm is.

I'm not gonna say it's not part of the argument, but I am solely talking about the movies so, yeah.

Eh, doesn't look to horrible.... but I'd doubt I'd see it or buy it. DC movies just don't do it for me.

It seems like they're trying to do a little bit more comedy and the like which might succeed now that Boring McBoringpants Superman be gone. Though I didn't hear "BooYah" once in that trailer. 0/10 on RT.

Good parts:

- Aquaman riding on the hood of the Batmobile shouting "Yeah!"
- Flash nerdgasming over the Batarang.
- Action looks good. Big war scene on Themyscira, which is what I expected.
- Batman piloting some kind of train-sized spider-tank.

Lastly:

Flash: What are your superpowers again?
Batman: I'm rich.
Bad parts:

- Feels a lot like Suicide Squad. This could be a step in the right direction, and it might be...Suicide Squad.
- Cyborg's face really stands out against the CGI; they should've gone for partially practical effects, like a Terminator-look. [https://reelclub.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/terminator7.jpg] He actually appears to don some sort of flight mask in the trailer; I think that was specifically to cover up this problem.
- Cyborg's body is generally way too light and skinny. It's the most skeletal version of Cyborg I've ever seen. It actually doesn't make much sense; a more bulky [https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/41/Cyborg_%28The_New_52%29.jpg] look like in the comics would be easier for a human actor to film and require less expensive CGI. Right now, they've just slapped Ray Fisher's head onto a completely computer-generated torso. It's more expensive, and it looks terrible.

A lot still rests on the Wonder Woman film. If that turns out to be a shitburger...I mean, I've been way more tolerant of the DCEU than most. I genuinely liked Man of Steel, and my opinion of BvS went from "I'm conflicted" to "this is almost a great film" once I saw the stupidly-long director's cut. But Suicide Squad was a shitburger pretending to be a cash cow, and I don't think there's anything that could have redeemed it, short of tossing 80% of it into the bin and starting again.

tl;dr : cautious optimism.

Remember when Suicide Squad had that one good trailer that convinced everyone the movie was worth watching despite all the previous DCEU movies being trash?

Remember how Suicide Squad was trash?

Yeah...

It's a decent enough trailer, but I still don't care about the movie or have any intention to see it. You've burned me too many times DC, you have zero good will left.

Yes to the first, no to the second.

Or at least in ASM1. The romance between them is cringeworthy. Whatever their status in real life, the romance between them is too poorly written for me to get invested.

Well, no, not really. I remember seeing the trailer, thinking it would be good, and it turned out okay. Better than BvS, but not as good as MoS (which is also "okay" at the end of the day).

I mean, 2016 gave us Deadpool (bleh), so anything looks better when compared to it.

Why is there almost never any sunlight in the DC movies?

I've been trying to figure out why I find them so visually unappealing and I think that's at least part of it. They always seem to take place at night or on an overcast day. Combine that with the constant blue filter and you get a murky grey mess.

I mean, let's go through that trailer scene-by-scene

1 - Bruce Wayne and a horse. Overcast. Murky and blue-ish grey.
2 - Papa Cyborg at home. Nighttime.
3 - Bruce and Diana talking. Looks like nighttime. Or at least indoors with low light. Murky either way.
4 - Aquaman does aqua things. Overcast and grey.
5 - Three shots of Cyborg. All at night.
6 - Cyborg stops rolling humvee. I thought this one was at night too but it's actually just super overcast and grey.
7 - Flash's home. Indoors, nice and dingy and grey.
8 - Brief shot of Flash flashing. Overcast and grey.
9 - Batman fighting mooks. Overcast and grey.
10 - Heroes strike poses. Actual warm lighting, like from a fire.
11 - Aquaman fights mooks. Overcast and grey.
12 - Wonder Woman does leg sweep. ACTUAL FUCKING SUNLIGHT HOLY SHIT!
13 - Flying cyborg. Nighttime.
14 - Flash flashing. Indoors. Dingy and grey.
15 - Flash and Bruce in car. Possible sunlight, confirmation pending.
16 - Batformer. Underground for maximum grey murkiness.
17 - Bunch of rapidfire scenes. Mostly nighttime or overcast. One with some sunlight, couple ambiguous.

Like, Christ, why are they so determined to make everything grey-blue and murky?

It's just depressing to look at.

Huh.

Alright this looks like it has SOME promise. SOME.

Maybe it's just because I really really like the flash (he's the only DC character I really enjoy), and because Aquaman looks like a ton of fun. But I do see this having some potential.

...That said if Zack Snyder is directing this, I don't exactly have high hopes that it'll turn out alright.

If the reviews aren't a brutal smack-down, I might see it just for the Flash and Aquaman.

Also why no Superman?
Because Superman "died" in BvS, and the trailer can't give away the fact that he's totally alive in a healing coma or whatever other stupid bullshit they want to crib from The Death of Superman. Maybe he'll come back with a mullet, a black costume, and shooting guns. That version would fit Zack Snyder's vision of the characters really well.

Sometimes I want to see that comic line of Superman in the Black Suit just to see how stupidly awesome it is.

And most likely he's gonna have the black suit and mullet, but no guns.

Given how low my expectations are, the trailer wasn't bad -- Not that trailer enjoyability and movie enjoyability seem to have much relationship anymore, if they ever did.

Still...

What's with Aquaman's "dudebro" 'tude? Just seems a rather odd...

Speaking of odd, I reallyreallyreally hope they improve the Cyborg look/effects in the final cut.

Still think Gadot is a terrible choice for WW, but, meh, whatever.

If I see this in theaters, and currently that's a big "IF", it will be purely on the shoulders of Jason Momoa's Aquaman.

Past that, it looks like the movie would only be around 52 minutes if they kept the camera going in realtime the whole way through.

I am surprised at the bad guy reveal. I mean:
a potential Jamie Reyes Blue Beetle being in play before Ted Kord?

Best guess, it hides the ridiculous amount of CGI they use. Have half the scenes in BvS during the day and it would look like a PS2 cutscene.

And already with goofs in your own trailer... seriously? I mean it looks exciting, I really want this to be good. I've always loved Batman more than any other superhero but:

That water hit him so hard it knocked his shirt off.

Pretty sure those are just 2 different scenes they are splicing together for a trailer for dramatic effect. You know, almost like it's a trailer, and they do this stuff all the time. Take phrases said in different portions of the film, and use them in a different scene to imply a different context.

Considering we see in the first trailer, him standing, facing the water, clearly shirtless, it's most likely a clip from that scene, and they were just splicing it with a scene of him being heroic, so that you get, in 2 cuts, and 5 seconds, (Hero, water guy).

OT: I think it looks ok, Cyborg still looks terrible CG wise, but I'm ok with bad looking effects, it doesn't cause me to enter a frothing nerd rage like some people on the internet. It looks like it might be good, but I'm being very conservative in that estimation. Could be utter shit, we'll see when it comes out.

Well it's not like this is new, I've been told, in the Batman v Superman trailer, that shot where they show Superman shooting his eye beams, and then cut to Batman hooking away before a beam blast hits him, isn't actually correct. (Not sure, didn't see the movie), that it was Superman shooting at Doomsday, and Batman hooking away from a blast from Doomsday. So yeah, this is hardly a new thing. They clip together what they think fits the run time, theme music, and tone they are aiming for.

Though your theory about the water stripping him down because he's just too sexy for his shirt, like the ocean is the spiritual manifestation of Right Said Fred....I'm on board with this theory. xD
