What would you think or do if you were informed as of this moment, any close relation of yours via the internet would die?

Pardon my succinct candor, but I'm honestly curious, what would you, the individual, think if someone you knew personally, but only on the internet, died?

Depending on how close they lived, I'd go right over to wherever they were. But I['d definitely be distraught.

They only died on the Internet? So, they lost it or something?

I wouldn't really care since they would still be alive in real life, which is really where it matters. I could still talk to them and visit and see them, so there would be no lose.

Edit: Sorry, read the OP wrong. I guess I wouldn't really care anymore than if someone told me someone I didn't know died. I don't really have any strong feelings for my "Internet friends". Sorry all.

Hmmm, I'd probably send my deepest condolences, but after that...probably nothing.

Can't say I ever had any personal relation purely from the internet. Probably never will have, since I really like things like... faces, you know. Those funny thing... people, you know, have?

However, if I would have a serious relationship with anybody, I would be sad if he/she died. No matter how I would meet him/her.

I'd probably not realize that they had died unless someone had informed me. The same thing would most likely occur outside of the internet.

EDIT: I fail at reading.

I'd message them that they're going to die and advise them to do something awesome before they move on.

What the hell is up with all these sad and depressing threads lately!?

I'd rip off my computers cabinet, and yank my floppy disk directly into the harddrive.

I'd be doubtful. I have seen people pretend to be all sorts of things. (This one guy I knew tricked an entire community of hundredsinto thinking he was a lesbian from Japan who had cancer.) "Dead" is hardly a big jump.

I would be sad for a bit, then take them off my friends list and move on. No point in having them there to remind you.

If it was from a reliable source, then I'd probably be sad for a while, and then move on. If it was from someone I'd never heard of before, then I'd probably say "Bullshit".

Quite frankly i don't like the threat implied here
You better watch out, or he'll send the DOGS OF WAR your way while screaming(Writing to you on the forum obviously) "THIS IS A ONE-WAY TICKET TO YOUR OWN DEATH!!" or "YOU'VE SIGNED THE WARRANT OF YOUR OWN DEATH"

So yeah, I'd watch out to, if I were implying that there was some sort of implied threat here.

Well, I'd be relatively skeptic, but if it was verified I imagine I'd react as anyone does when a friend dies: remorse.

I'd be skeptic.
But depending on who it was, I might be sad.
If it was any of you people, I would be sad, but not in tears.
