I would say "lies". I've gotten chain mail saying that if I don't send some BS message that my three oldest cousins would die. I didn't send that mail and they are as healthy as can be.

I honestly do not know. I've never had anyone close to me die, so I don't really even know how I'd react in a more ordinary situation. I do care about internet friends, though the number of those I'd consider true friends is far smaller than the number in my profile.

I'd probably get very sad. And not just for people I know slightly more about than just their screen name. I'd probably be sad if anyone died. Especially if it was any of you guys. There are probably many other scenarios, but until someone does die, I can't say I'll know exactly.

There are certain situations that I couldn't know my reaction to unless they happened.

In other words, I don't know.

So...Apologies Abound

I'd give a message saying how sorry I am to hear of that. After that, theres not much else to do but to move on I'm saddend to say.

Depends on just how well I knew them just as it would in real life, but knocked down a peg or two more than the counterpart for every inch away from the 'dearest freind or loved one' end of the scale that they were at.

I would grieve for the death of the Escapist.
I would shrug off the death of Random browsing.
I would celebrate the death of Chan.

Be sad for maybe a second or two and then move on. Is this some kind of social behaviour test or something.
Oh, my reason is because I don't find internet personal enough btw.

Well, it would depend on who it was.

If it were... say, Anarchemitis (dun-dun-dun!), I would be sort of sad, but then it would be over. It would have the same effect as if Anarchemitis were to suddenly be banned.

But I do have one friend on the internet with whom I've become particularly close. If he died, it'd be just almost just as bad as if my best friend in real life had hit the metaphorical bucket.

No one has died, it's a hypothetical situation.
So no-one's dead?

That's disappointing I had a eulogy written and everything...
You know, people say such nice things at funerals it makes me sad to know that I'll miss mine by only a few days.

We could pretend you're dead and give you a living funeral? It would have to be open casket though...

Please say yes I've already informed your friends and relatives and updated your facebook page accordingly...
