It depends. If their colonizing in your house, you have a right to. If not... Well, then it depends. Ants I can understand, because their annoying, and blood suckers because those damn bites itch like a *****.

1: Yes.
2: If their in my home.
3: Yes.

There is nothing wrong with it. Anyone who tells you otherwise is someone who had a petrock and got angry if they dropped it, or gets angry if you step on grass. There are literally billions of them. You can argue there are billions of humans, we can't reproduce nearly as fast as them, and we serve a much greater purpose than they do.
Do I say you could go into an ecosystem where there are no humans, bugs play an important role, and create a super animal that can counter it in every way? No. If the bugs are bothering you anywhere humans frequent, you have every right.

You know, without bees we'd only live a matter of weeks?

So by what measure do we serve a "much greater purpose"?

They're entirely instinctive. Meaning they don't feel pain, or any emotions.

There's nothing wrong with killing them, just don't go out of your way to kill tons of them because there's an eco system to be kept :p

You know that can't be true. The bees are not around most of the year. Like most bugs they come back in the summer - disappear for the winter.

I know what you are trying to say about how bees cross pollinate flowering plants. True they are not the only animals to do it, but they are the most efficient. The late arrival this year means almost no cherries for me.

Still the point I am getting at is that we seem to survive just fine all winter long without bees, so I think your a tad over-exaggerating there.

It's not wrong. They're annoying and stupid and love to piss you off.

I myself have a massive inferiority complex and a really short temper so I find myself slaughtering bugs by the continent-load.

If they bite me or try to bite me or are dangerous, then yes I kill them (Killing a black widow that is in your house is preventive killing)

If they happen to just be in my house and wandering around, I try to get them outside and safe (I had a ladybug wandering around once, so I made sure it got outside safe and sound)

1. No.
2. Any circumstances.
3. No. When bored in summer, I usually go out in the garden and crush fire ants with my nails, or rip their antennas of and let them walk.

Yes, I realize that about bees. The fact of the matter is, unless there is some sort of unified effort on it, one human could not kill an notable amount of bees. We, as a species have recognized that we need bees, as I recall several efforts supporting them. To further add on to that, a majority of humans are scared of bees, and I know several who run should they even see one. To further that point, there are bee farms, meaning that we have some sort of effort to use them for honey. For pollination, there are plenty of areas where humans don't frequent that i'm sure there are tons of bees. If you're talking you find one in new york city, I'm sure someone would try, but they have a nasty sting and a habit of getting away quickly. Finally, I believe that according to what humans have completed thus far, and the ability of conscious thought, we deserve to research, expand, and live upon this planet which we were put on.

Sorry for long post.

Daddy long legs creep me the fuck out.

Gah!

I kill spiders and daddy long legs, but from afar. I try to rescue everything else.

While I won't go out of my way to not kill something, if I see someone crush a spider or something when it was not disturbing anyone, I'd have a bit of a go at them.

I could care less about killing insects, since they are roughly small amounts of bio-mass controlled only by instincts. I only kill them if they are disturbing me, however.

I don't worry about it too much. The insects have a high reproduction cycle because of their relatively short lifespan. If it makes you feel any better sometimes i'll box up a spider and toss it outside. I don't like killing critters anymore than I have to. (I used to be pretty ruthless as a kid too, frying ants with a magnifying glass and stuff like that.)

Oh man, I used to have all out war on ant hills when I was a kid. Cramming a couple firecrackers in the hills to where only the wicks stuck out, and make tiny smoking craters. Did I feel bad about it pfft, hells no. Do I feel bad about it today, are you kidding I wish I had some firecrackers right now to turn a rather large ant hill in my drive way into ground zero.

They're bugs dude, and killing them is in no way a moral crime. You need to stop sweating small stuff like this. Just cause you took some joy in killing bugs as a kid didn't mean you were messed up, it meant you were normal.

Me and my family got this cabin that we useually go to during the weekends and I often find myself sitting in my room there late at night playing video games with my tv screen the only source of light in the room.

Those annoying little cunts sure like light, don't they?

I useually don't like killing bugs, but I will treat them to a face full of finger if they don't take the hint around the sixth time I shoo them away from the screen.

Lately some annoying little insects have arrived on my street due to increased heat and I'm waking up with little itchy bites on my hands which I'm 90&% sure are because of these mini-daddy long legs creatures.

a few days ago i noticed a wasps nest in a pile of wood that will, on june 23, become a Jonsok bonfire! (KILL IT WHIT FIRE!)
