It's sound somewhat reasonable (although I would of been worry of my hands hitting the ceiling fan itself) compare to all the ones who "accidently" let go of the wii remote or just "forgot" to strap on.

So not only did Villarreal lose his TV, but he automatically lost the game [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Game_(mind_game)] too. That's just cold.

Hahaha, fantastic. I'm looking forward to hearing more of these stories. I'd forgotten about when this kinda thing was happening when the Wii was released.

"causing it to die with a rainbow LCD teardrop dripping down from the impact wound." <--- totally made my day

No cords, no controllers, not even extraneous additions.
Utterly hardware free and people still manage horrible accidents.
How far can this industry go? Make something you play by thinking at it?

... Heh. Nice to see the guy's taking it well. Humorous, even.

On a somewhat related note, I'm looking forward to the torrent of rage spewing forth from all the people who are going to wreck their stuff while playing Kinect games.

That guy is a fucking wordsmith. His description was awesome.

Feeling a bit of sympathy for him, but this accident has given him a small boost of fame, so it's sort of balanced. He might now get some regular readers of his blog from this accident!
maybe he'll get lucky and the publicity bump will provide the funds for a new TV

i wonder what the situation with accidental damage insurance is for this sort of thing.

Aww that sucks...but when it said he hit the fan with his arm, i was imagine it would say something along the lines of the fan chopping the guys arm off, and his arm flew into the TV and broke the screen.

:D

According to the article, he is literally a wordsmith. Or, in another word, a writer. If he didn't entertain his reader, he wouldn't be doing his job very well! :)

As people have already said, the guy seems to be a really good sport about it.

Ahhh I found that so funny I nearly peed.
Fantastic - I wonder how long before we get similar websites to the wii incidents - how many people are going to break their tvs, themselves, their small children who think they're just dancing and run into the way...

Anyone else wondering what kind of massive ceiling-fan-chain-projectile this guy had dangling in front of him in order to do that kind of damage to a TV? Or is this just the weakest TV in the whole world? If I spiked my ceiling fan chain into my TV, you'd hear a tiny plastic "plink". o_O

cool story bro!

Good shot, and a nice rainbow effect added to the TV!
