I didnt mean they should be gory or inappropriate I just mean they could look meaner instead of cutesywutesy. My avatar has a somber expression on purpose and it's ruined by the toddler like interactions he has with everything.

if they don't want any aggression from avatars, then delete all the air kicks, kung fu dummys/kata, swords, light saber moves. just stop them jumping around like they are 4 and I'll be happy. All I want is my avatar to look mean or stoic when a flying skull turns up and floats around him instead of looking like hes at a birthday party full of candy and cakes and toys and hes a child.

not that it's majorly important to me or anything but it just en flares my nerd rage :p
I dunno, I'm not for the mean look. (My guy's got the dark shirt, gloves, and jeans, but he's still got the same smirk my Mom gave me on her Wii) Your playing games to have fun, not be all melancholy, so why not show that off with your avatar? :p

Aside, I'd be havin' good times if there was a flaming skull around me... Until it set something on fire.

Where I'm getting with this, is that they're for the casual side of things. And casual players don't look mean when they're playing Co-op on GoW3.
meh I would still like the choice. I make my ingame characters look mean so it would be a natural extension of that really.

I seem to recall that having a firearm as a character's primary weapon or main accessory leads to an automatic "T" rating for videogames. Makes sense that they would want to "friendly-fy" the avatars to keep it "family friendly".

It annoys me that they have to make all the avatars smile and dance like children while playing with avatar items like a servo skull from space marine.

No IT HAZ TO BE NICE FUR DA KIDZ HURRRR WE'Z NINTENDO NOW DURRRRR
The XBL avatars were never aimed at a mature audience to begin with, so scaling down certain content shouldn't surprise anyone. It has nothing to do with XBOX games, it's making the "open, accessible" content on XBL E for Everyone.

No one is losing anything they bought, you just won't be able to buy guns any more so a gaming lobby full of avatars doesn't look like an NRA meeting. I seriously don't see what there is to spazz out over. Unless you're one of those people who obsess over their cartoon avatars, spending hours upon hours staring at it rather than, you know... playing actual games?

I'm not surprised. They are playing it safe. Everyone freaks out about these things. My advice: if this really bothers you, don't buy shit from the store as form of protest. Or, if this doesn't affect you, then don't worry about it.

MS are shit boxes anyway. If you are supporting them in anything besides operating systems, then there is clearly something wrong with you. :p

It's all a lie, they just want a bunch of people to buy the guns thinking it'll be their last chance, come Jan. 2 they'll release a statement saying it was a misunderstanding and guns will still be available.

Do you even listen to yourself when you speak?

Not to fanboy here, but when has Microsoft or even Sony for that matter EVER pulled that kind of stunt? Name one time. Yea, they can be money grubbing, but seriously, use some common sense. That's openly dicking over their customers in plain view, an no major company is stupid enough to do that. If they're going to screw you, they're going to try and do it so you don't know.

I stand by to their decision. It makes sense, we are bombarded by military and war related stuff every day, it's about time this gun "fetish" is thwarted a little bit.
