Kony was a real issue around 7 years ago. Now he's starving in the jungle after multiple defeats and sueing for peace. This is a really, really, really, really late outcry by The Internet and it's a little bit embaressing. Mostly because at this point, it's nearly over.
Does it matter how he's different? They are all deserving of justice. If we can take down Joseph Koney, we can demonstrate that if we work hard, eventually we'll be able to end all tyranny. It might take a long while, but I want to die rest assured that the world has become a better place since I drew my first breath, and will continue to improve when I breathe my last.

Killing a warlord by funding a tyrant? Really? You just made it worse. The Kony charity funds the Ugandan government, who are harsh dictators who do the SAME shit Kony does. Thats not making anything better, especially since Kony hasn't done anything for 6 years. We don't even know if he is alive anymore, because there are rumors the LRA ousted Kony and replaced him with someone else.
Besides, you don't bring down a warlord by liking something on facebook. Get real. The ONLY reason Kony is where he is right now is because Uganda squashed his army with the help of the US military years ago. Saying we should stop Kony is like saying we should stop Genghis Khan in 2012. Its a little late for outcry. Its already (mostly) resolved, without the help from the facebookers. Africa doesn't need likes, it needs help. The sooner we realize this, the sooner money goes to actual causes, instead of 30 minute movies to tug on your heart strings but does nothing else.
I have never said we should all donate to this particular cause. All I said is that if we can take down one powerful crime lord, we'll be demonstrating that we could possibly take them all out. I wasn't aware that Koney may have already died, but you jumped the gun a bit there and made a lot of assumptions about my stance on this matter.
Okay, seriously, read the whole of this post before you think it's clever to post an angry comment about how terrible this cause is. Think before you post a comment, because some of you are really embarrassing yourselves with your anger and misplaced, irrational hatred. Also, check out all the links provided. Trust me.

'Who is he?' you might all be asking; that's the point.
This man needs to be known so the authorities of the world can work together for his capture and imprisonment.
His criminal acts are a blight on the modern world, and he needs to be stopped.

This article is also very important. Again, we have no sources for the facts stated, but it's definitely interesting. Questionable charity or not, Invisible Children do good work, and the fact they are raising awareness is a great feat. What I think is most important to note about this fad however is that this is indeed a social experiment too, as stated in the video. What this will show the world is how Social Networking can help us nobodies achieve a common goal on a global scale. If you support the charity or not, you must be able to see that this is of great importance in today's world.
