And of course he's going to say it's for consumer benefit. Quite how it will be, when he hasn't appeared to make any mention of how he'll improve the system with the extra revenue (just the fact that Activision will have more money), I don't know...
Kotick doesn't understand the term "Customer Care", I don't think, given he seems to think its inchangeable with "Wallet Raping".
Eh, business-wise he seems to know what he's doing, and is in fact remarkably good at it. It's just that all of the (highly successful) methods he implements to earn him more money make him look like a douche.

Well thank goodness Medal of Honour is coming out this year.

Either way I think it's time for console gamers to make a stand, your practically extorted at every opportunity, please prove you aren't walking bundles of cash before this sort of thing infects the pc market.

Dwindling fanbase for Call of Duty? You're joking right?
I think he's referring to the PC version and, if Xfire stats are anything to go by, Modern Warfare 2 has about half the play time of Call of Duty 2 and a third of Modern Warfare 1, and is in danger of being overtaken by League of Legends.

Honestly? If the CoD fanbase soaks it up (and judging by the success of the map packs, there's a likelihood that they will) then we will have a new definition for "noob".

I doubt that it will mean a subscription fee for COD as we know it because lets be honest the games become repetative and boring after 5/6 weeks and leave me thinking that the £39.99 was actualy too much.

The subscription will probably some kind of MMOFPS game

it'd be a good idea if it was free or £1 per month or something, coz i have cod for PS3 and all my friends have XBox, so itd be good to play with them :p

if its like £10 per month, Kotick = Satan.

EDIT: Goodbye CoD, Hello Battlefield.

This seems like a smart move, if you have the fastest selling game EVER why not make more money off of it? People will still pay.

It will happen. We dont want to acknowledge it but the internet is soon to be come a premium service, within 5-10 years you'll pay to access anything and net neutrality will be non-existent. Kotick wants to ride the trend as it only means profit.

No no no!
That audience isn't clamoring for it, they're clamoring AGAINST it!

In a decent game that's already full of design flaws, adding bullshit doesn't help at all.

The call of duty Franchise died with Call of duty 4. All their doing now is kicking a corpse for money.

"Audiences are clamouring for it."
Yeah, cause I totally want to pay £50 for a new game, then pay something similar to that to play said game online where I can experience possible racist and homophobic abuse. /sarcasm

Seriously, what. Fucking. World. Is. He. Living. In? Where do people want to pay for something twice to use it completely? I can see soooooooooo many people leaving the COD franchise if they implement this. Trying to make money on this is like trying to remove the social stigma of being obese by feeding everyone deep fried cheese burgers.

I'm gonna end this post here, because I can't be bothered to list all the ways Kotick is an idiot for thinking this.

Will it be "cinematic" as well?
"audiences are clamoring for it."
Tell you what, shall we make a little poll here to see how many people are clamouring to pay money to Kotick?

I'm guessing it's less of a clamour and more of a stutter.
