I'm pretty sure standards went out the window awhile ago. I think the industry doesn't pick up on it because it knows, when one of their true gamers picks up the game whether it be because they are a fan or a joke, they will probably get their asses kicked and then the industry will lose a few gamers who "just wanted to see what all the fuss was".

Given that the premise of Twilight is creepy sex, some kind of hentai VN seems most appropriate.

Someone get 0verflow or Type-Moon on the phone, it's right up their proverbial alley.

Lose 7 digit revenue, keep all self respect, be able to keep making games and not have your house burned down by everyone that isn't a twilight fan?. Thats a pretty good trade for in my opinion.

The twilight mmo is going to be shit enough, we don't need more.

This will also help

And their standard would seem to be "making a piece of crap to appeal to young women is an exercise in futility because they won't play it, they're not gamers, and even if the game was good we couldn't pick up any overflow from even the young males who will play stuff "not for them" if it's good enough."

Yes, the game would "make seven figures" in gross revenue, but license fees, development time (even from a shovelware studio), and marketing costs would eat up all of that money and the game wouldn't actually make a profit. Therefore, no Twilight game.

But hey, nice try, Nick Gibson. You're an asshole. People like you are why there's so much shovelware on store shelves. Must be real easy to take a shit with your rectum opened nice and wide by your head.

Trust me, it's millions worth not having.

How would that even work? The only way I could see it is if they make it a dating sim.

Or maybe a generic hack and slash where you play as Edward to rescue that girl from those "evil" Vampires...oh screw it, that actually sounds GOOD. Which apparently Twilight is desperately afraid of.

If a Twilight game goes through, I will completely lose all faith in humanity and most likely go on a rampage.

i agree with this guy...

if i were a developer for wii... sony... microsoft i would slap anyone that said "lets make a twilight game!" and if it WERE indeed produced.. i would buy some copies... only to burn

It'd just be a crappy movie tie in like every crappy movie tie in. Besides if the books and movies are any indication, Twi-Twits don't really understand quality anyway.

A Twilight game... I can just picture it:

Press A to cry,
press B to remove clothing,
press and hold X to Sparkle,
and press Y to close up on face.

A really good format for a Twilight game would be like a dating sim. Just imagine how many girls would line up to virtually talk to Edward or whatever other characters.

Rock band: Twilight Edition - All Cure and Joy Division songs!

I've never read the novels or seen the movies so I can't speak to what content is even there to make a game out of it, but it seems like it would really only make it as some sort of Facebook game.

So what gameplay elements could there be...? Sparkling Werewolves to go away...? Playing Vampire basketball...? Maybe there isn't a Twilight game because even the publishers know that it would flop... the only reason there's a SceneIt game is because SceneIt, like Twilight, is incredibly diabolical?

I'm getting the pitchforks. If they make this game I will be able to say alone in the dark is better is a game to something and be serious. Most probably. If this game is good I will slam my head into an encyclopedia repeatedly telling myself the game is horrible. I can't believe they would even think of sinking this low!

"Lack of Twilight game has cost industry millions," yes but at the cost of saving countless gamers' lives by preventing mass suicide attempts....truly a noble choice

If done right, this would be the coolest game ever. You literally have to rip other vampires apart one limb at a time and burn them, as they are still alive until you burn them on a heap. And as far as werewolves go, they're so fucking awesome in this series. Transform at will, humongous, superfast, superstrong and able to shred those vampires to bits and itty bitty pieces with their sparkly asses burning on a steak before daybreak.

[quote}He goes on to posit that the owners of the digital rights might not know that they are sitting on a potential goldmine.[/quote]
Or maybe they just realise it would be shit. I can see it now: X button to moon, Y to be angsty. Or use the sixaxis to control your level of scowl

Vampire game? Sure there's potential. Lots, actually. Twilight game? Oh hell no. No. NNOOOOOOO!

Nick Gibson sounds like a greedy shit who cares about quality about as much as Kotick.
