Fallout 3, Silent Bomber (only cos' I saw it completed this morning and there was no cutscene after the final boss... arrrggghhh!), Halo 2 + 3, and too many other games to name.

Gears of War 2 was a disappointment for me, a lambent Brumak was all they could come up with...rather unsatisfying.

I personally liked the Fallout 3 ending...

Anyway, it's not the worst ending ever, but Freespace 2's ending wasn't great. Wasn't terrible, but left way too many questions that will never be resolved.

The entire storyline before that was fantastic, twisting and turning and just being generally awesome, and then the last mission rolls by and -

All of a sudden the mighty nigh-unstoppable fleet of a hundred or so Sathanas juggernauts that just showed up make the closest star go supernova and bail, leaving you sitting there going wtf just happened.

One of my favourite games regardless though.

I'm not sure if anyone else has played it, but MechCommander had a pretty lackluster ending too. 2 second cutscene, cut to credits.

Oblivion.
Oh, yes it is very satisfying the first time through when you're playing as a noble warrior/mage or whatever, but the second time around when you want to be the evilest SOB that ever lived in Cyrodiil, you get the same bloody ending as the good guy. Question: why wouldn't the head of the Dark Brotherhood want to join with the Daedric Invasion rather than trying to stop it?

because if the daedra kill every one, he goes out of business. If your and assassin, you want a population boom, not genocide.

I'd say the worst game ending is......hmmm.......ba...no......ummm.......halo 3. on legendary. You know it. It was a good game, and good series in general. But when they said halo 3 is the last one, i thought, good, there has rarely been a good series past 3 titles. But then i beat the game on legendary and WTF!? he's not dead, just sleeping. And the final line is "wake me when you need me" not "if" but "when". Could this be a more obvious cliff hanger?(don't answer that)

Actually, the darkness had a pretty disappointing ending. i just spent an entire game eating peoples hearts and blowing off their fucking heads and all i can do on the final boss is stand there menacingly until my trigger finger slips and i kill him in one hit? One hit? technically 2 but thats not much better. I wanted to throw him out of the lighthouse!

HANDS DOWN

far cry 2

the story line started out potentially interesting and I won't spoil it but it goes down the shitter and doesn't make sense. the ending is the most retarded thing I have ever witnessed.

KOTOR 2. the ending just isn't there...
OH MY GOD. YOU ARE MY HERO.

I fucking hated KOTOR 2's ending, for SO many different reasons. When a game forces you to go online to get the complete sense of what the hell is going at the ending, that is really sad.

All right fine. But my point was that if you are trying to role play the evilest little bastard that ever lived in the history of Tamriel, then it does not make sense for you to go and stop the daedric invasion. Personally, I would've liked to have been given the option to fight the daedric boss myself and take his place and end the game with an army of daedra at my command, and cackling to myself as every one in Tamriel started kissing my ass.

So many. Most recently, Gears of War 2 irked me quite a bit. You fight your way through hell and back, destroy humanity's last safe haven to destroy an enemy at war with itself, and essentially cause more damage to your own human race than your enemy, and all you get is "BUY GEARS OF WAR 3 TO FIND OUT WHAT EVERYTHING MEANS"

People are going to buy the game anyway, just give us a damn proper ending while you're at it.
I second that. Honestly, basically it's "You killed all the locusts, BUTCHOO FOGOT TEH QUEEN *****!". That is most certainly not how to end a game. Really, how does the queen keep getting away? Just tag her with a tracking device (If we have something now, they damn better have it in GOW3, and it should be even better) and send tanks and shit after her.

Has no-one mentioned Neverwinter Nights 2 yet?

Here we go;
Rocks fall, everyone dies.

Although to be fair, more information was given when taken with the expansion 'Mask of the Betrayer'.
Oh fuck you, I was going to say that.

How does killing a big shadow make a massive fortress collapse anyway?

I've got to say Oblivion.
Well done running around completing monotonous tasks for 5 hours. Now watch me fight that huge dragon...
I've got to agree, especially when the sole person who keeps Tamriel from going to hell, and the sole reason for your questends up being turned to stone. He leaves no heir to the throne; thereby possibly foreshadowing a brutal, devastating civil war for the throne of the country that was just saved from being ravaged by demons.
Well thats not really the end of the game is it? Its much more open ended than that. Go and play the game properly before saying that thats the end.

Oblivion and Fable 2 were both pretty bad... Oblivion at least had a fight though... but both of these were superior to Fallout 3, at least they let you keep playing

I actually played through Battletoads on an emu, and save stated throughout the bloody thing to keep my sanity...the ending was pathetic, to say the least. A few pictures, some pointless congratulatory text...for all that bullshit, it should have been a fucking awesome ending.
