Fallout 3.
It devalued all the side-quests I took on before, and made them pretty insignificant to the whole story. Sure, in the short run, I saved Big Town and taught them how to use guns, I defused the bomb in Megaton, I liberated Harkness and killed off Zimmer and his bodyguard for him, I released Harold from his torment (NOO HAROLD HOW DID BETHESDA SCREW UP YOUR CHARACTER D:), I stopped the two crazy people from making a mess in Canterbury Commons, I helped write the Wasteland Survival Guide perfectly, I yaddayaddagoodkarmayaddaetcetc. But when all I saw was just that I gave clean water in the Wasteland, and didn't tell me what happened in the future, it took away the whole point of doing the sidequests. I honestly thought that it would be there in the ending, telling me how awesome I am, much like the previous games.
I agree. Fallout 3 was the single worst video game ending I have ever seen in my entire 27 years on this planet.

Mine was the true ending to Sonic Rush. It made me cry. (make fun of me all you want. I like what I like and I feel what I feel.)

CoD 5: WaW

Partially due to the ending of CoD 4, which was presented in a superior way, making me see CoD 5's ending as leaving something to be desired.
It's WWII, how did you expect it to end?

Myst, anybody? After 10+ hours of running around those islands and solving puzzles, and saving Atrus' ass at the end, he simply rewards you by telling you that you're free to explore. Damn that sucked.

I liked the Prince of Persia 2008 ending...

OT: Bioshock's ending was poor, but the the rest of the game more than made up for it, same goes for KOTOR 2.

Id say either The Darkness because of the lack of any closure or Persona 4 it was a bit light hearted for my taste also predictable for a game that focused so much on mystery

Assassin's Creed. I saw the final twist coming from a mile away, but the actual ending with the Piece of Eden and the marks on the wall confused the hell out of me. Maybe they'll make sense if I go buy the sequel! I see what you did there, Ubisoft!

Fallout 3. I'm buying the Broken Steel DLC just so I can get a better ending.

Eternal Sonata. They just throw the whole storyline in the trash can and go "Hey hey, nevermind the rest of the game, THIS is the actual story!"

Nobody has mentioned Halo 2 yet? That's a surprise. I guess it's because now that 3 is out, it's not as big a deal...

I think both FEAR games had pretty bad endings. The first one I could deal with, because it was twistedly enjoyable. But when I saw the second ending I noticed a trend - in both games, the writers turn around and say 'so hey all that stuff you did was pretty cool but it turns out you've been once again outwitted (see RAPED) by our awesome psychic ghost lady. Isn't she awesome? She owns you every single time she turns up. Also no closure. Roll credits!'

I'm really getting sick of Alma and her hackneyed-shrieky-violin-pop-ups. She's not scary anymore. She's just frustrating and dull.

Let us kill her in the third game and put all this behind us.

(Sorry for the rant, but I just completed FEAR 2 and I'm full of rage.)

Fallout 3 - What, I fight through all that, do all those quests and everything else, and /that/'s what I get? Damn...

Fable 2 - ...One-hit wonder. I hate those sorts of kills. Here I thought you'd actually try to resist a bit, Lucien... What a pansy.

Halo 3 - Nothing like finishing one of the best FPS's I've ever played as one of the worst characters in the franchise. No, Arby, I have nothing against you, it's just... John is so much cooler...

Halo 2 - It's a cliffhanger, and don't get me wrong, I have nothing against cliffhangers... It's just that Bungie did a terrible job of it. (Love you, Bungie.)

Oblivion (Main Quest) - It's cool that this game doesn't have a "technical" ending, but seriously, all I do is /stand there/ like a moron? Hey, Martin, I just led your pansy-ass all over God's (or the Nine's) green Earth (er... Planet?) and all I get to do is take up space and oxygen? I still think you're retarded. Wussy.

Gears of War 1 - What, no achievement for defeating RAAM on the highest difficulty possible? What a crock.

Alot of people say Fallout 3, but people weren't miffed about the ending. They were miffed that it ended.

I got to agree with Assassins Creed. I loved that game, but the ending made less sense than... well theres nothing to compare it to. "Well done, you've won! Here's some strange images for you to look at. Have fun."
