I've never really understood the whole war on consoles beyond it being joke PC gamers like to have sometime, but it's the same with anything people like that others don't I suppose. You know, "Stop having fun with something I don't like" or what have you.

Because console players are complete saints. There are never stupid, loud or ignorant console players ever, right? Personally, the ones who like to generalize PC gamers are being a group of asswipes fall within that stupid, loud and ignorant group.

I play PC because I happen to like mouse/keyboard over controller. I don't have a problem with consoles in general, though i think that some things could be better about the consoles. I don't consider myself a PC Gamer, just a Gamer who happens to play on PC. To the OP: do what you A) will enjoy and B) can afford. Each platform has some cool aspects and some cool exclusive titles.
I play like, 95% of the time on PC now and I still wouldn't call myself a PC gamer from all the nonsense I've seen by others. There are idiots on both sides of course, but I'd say I'm quite a modest person and so the whole bragging about how much better your hardware is whilst ignoring what to me is the main aspect of games - having fun - just clashes too much with my personality I guess.

Not EVERY PC gamer boycotts. Not every PC gamer whines about DRM. Not every PC gamer cares about graphics. (Just look at Minecraft)
Why do you care what they think? Do you care about all of the people who think you play games at all in the first place?
