As we all know the inevitable sequel to Left 4 Dead, Left 2 Die, will arrive whenever Valve showers us with its brilliance. Now what I would like to hear from all of you crazy zombie hunters out there, are your ideas, comments and ramblings about what could be in the sequel that would make it the perfect Zomb'O Slaughter game.

My personal wish is to see more guns, and more exotic weapons IE chainsaws and flamethrowers.
Or character customization....please valve, please?

Anyway, ramble on fellow escapists.....

EDIT: How could I forget more levels?? Stupid me..

i think the current weapons are good, makes it more...survival....but, I would like to see more levels. the Best bit about L4D is the teamwork involved, lanning it up or whatever. Either that or release more maps for the current game

I'd like to see an actual story, maybe more weapons. I got bored of this game too quick, an actual story will help that. I'm going to be killed for saying that.

I like the cover, just center the Left 2 Die part.

Edit: More zombie skins!

More levels would be nice, but the ones that were released are very well designed, I mean, it would be a shame if Valve released more maps at the expense of quality.

um as shitty as it would be i think a nice touch would be an exhaustion factor.

like after 15 minutes of nonstop action your character needs to stop for a breather or eat an energy bar or something to keep them going. it would no doubt be annoying but it would add another sense of realism to an otherwise fantasy game.

um other than that, more guns obviously, more types of zombies,

and i also think a "Dead Rising" sort of game element would be kinda cool. like you and your chums could move refrigerators in front of doors to make a temporary blockade, or you could pick up and briefly use random items like knives, baseball bats, shovels, floor lamps, etc.

(i'm trying to think of things in the Zombie Survival Handbook that could be used, but there isn't much that L4D hasn't already touched on)

All I'd like to see is more campaigns, that's it. I'm totally happy with everything else :)

I'd be satisfied with a Left 4 Dead sequel if it just introduced more enemies types, more weapons, a smarter director that adapts to challenging the players better, and additional play modes (e.g. a "mall survival" Dead Rising spoof).

They won't call it "Left 2 Die", of course, since that's nothing more than a Destructoid in-joke [http://www.destructoid.com/left-4-dead-is-for-losers-try-left-2-die-110813.phtml]. Left 4 Dead had significance in that there's 4 survivors who have been left for dead and are trying to escape, Left 2 Die doesn't make any sense unless there were 2 survivors who will die anyway.

I know but its fun anyway.

Because Left 4 Dead is a multiplayer-centric game, I don't think they will make a sequel, or at least not for a very long time. I'm willing to bet money on the chance that they'll update the game (or at least the PC version) with new levels and content in typical Valve style.

Make the playable characters more unique. Have their own abilities, weapons, e.t.c. Valve did a great job of it in TF2, I think it would do well in a game like L4D.

Another thing that would be cool would be Condemned style improvised weapons, and some sort of barricade system.

More Guns/Weapons.

More unique areas, they definitely could have done something like in the subway everyone packs into the train and its moves down the tracks while zombies come bursting through the roof/windows.

Difference in characters (Bonuses and Penalties for certain weapons, ie Zoey getting like +50% damage to pistols because its her signature weapon in the opening.)

Make it more tactical/ less linear. I think it would be cool if they just spawned you randomly in a city and you had to get to X random point and the computer would randomly lock out streets etc and it was up to the players to find a way to get to the point. I somewhat liked how in Resident Evil you had to pick doors or have people boost you to certain places.

Less Smokers - I cannot tell you how much bs smokers are in versus mode, people getting pulled off roofs etc.

Haha! Good one, you almost had me going there for a moment.

Anyway, a real story, better graphics, better weapons, and more enemy types.

I can't imagine making a difference in characters. More and more people would be quitting games early (or dropping out in lobby) because "Screw you all! I wanted to play as Francis because he has the +5 Shotgun against tanks hurf durf!"

Valve actually stated that they made all the characters the same ability wise to foster quicker games and cut down on player gripes. I tend to agree.

However...more maps (both campaign and vs), a few new special infected, the ability to play as regular joe infected in vs. mode, and a few new weapons would be pretty much all I need for Left 4 Dead 2: Electric Boogaloo.

The 2 could possibly refer to the fact that its the second game...
That's how I see it
But as far as the second game goes...
I'd like to see a bit of variety in the maps maybe not so linear..
Maybe have a place where you and your friends need to defend a certain place some shoot and some barricade the area making the safe house rather than just finding one....
That's my two cents

Well, I think that a weapon improvisation system would be cool, but I think it would get old fast. A barricade system would be pretty cool too, but again, it would get old fast. Really we just need more levels, and a new special zombie or two.

What about a special infected that could somehow make the survivors hallucinate seeing health or something, to lead them into a pack of infected.

Variety, and make it survival instead of group-of-strangely-well-armed-people-coming-across-random-weapon-storages.

My wish

More varied weapons (especially when it comes to melee: katanas, chainsaws, baseball bats, etc.)

A STORY (This would make the game perfect for me)

Ironsight use (It would just make those tricky headshots so much easier to pull off)

And more variety in zombies

This would be the best sequel I could think of
