It looks fun. It is 45 songs for $60, so if nothing else, it is a bargain when compared to buying all the songs for DLC, not that I would necessarily buy every song on the disc. I am kind of annoyed because the set list could be longer, but Harmonix and Activision are both intent on providing the fewest songs possible on a disc and milking us for DLC money as long as possible.

Ok, heres my view

Lego = Bad people

They are reselling a game exactly the same, except with different characters.

People are going to pay 60$ dollars.... so their Rockstar can be made of blocks?
Really? Which games are they ripping off of for Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Batman and Lego Star Wars? Near as I can tell, everyone of those games played much differently from any game from the series they were based off of.

Well, the Old Navy here in my hometown are giving away the game if you spend 20 bucks on thanksgiving day.

I suspect it's worth a 20 spot, so I'll go buy a couple shirts or something.
That's a Black Friday thing right? I need new oil rags.

But yeah, guy above made a great point, that is an awesome deal.... expecially if you like the Art and Entertainment channel on your shirt.... actually that's American Eagle but I like to seem less retarded.

They excel at both. There is no reason to hate them in the slightest.

Also, Lego Rock Band has the single best track list of any Rock Band game so far, and you can transfer the songs from Lego Rock Band to Rock Band 1 or 2 if you wish.
Pink part of the best track list of any Rock Band game? No. Just no.
Painkiller>>>>>>So What.
Wow, one song in the game is considered bad by one metal-head.
You sure proved me wrong...
Boys Like Girls, Korn, The All American Rejects, Good Charlotte and Blink-182 are all shit.
Compared to Foo Fighters, Metallica, Judas Priest, Blue Oyster Cult, Faith No More, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Coheed and Cambria, Bang Camaro, Pearl Jam, Rise Against, Bon Jovi, AC/DC...need I go on?
While I agree that I am a bigger fan of the Rock Band 2 soundtrack, I will hazard to point out that Bon Jovi and Foo Fighters are both on Lego Rockband, as well as having Bowie, Iggy Pop, Elton John, Queen, and Hendrix so the soundtrack is not terrible. It is like how most of these games work, a little good and a little bad so that everyone is happy.

You lost me on that sentence. When was Rock Band/Guitar Hero a "hardcore" game?
Uggh..just saying that word gives me a headache.
I'd like to see you do Visions on expert your first go.
I'd rather play a real instrument. That's hardcore.
Thats great, so why did you bother coming into this thread?
Because I was going to say that the Lego series are fun. But I did a double take on that particular sentence. And what's your reason?

Ibanez887 said:

What do you guys play and whats your band name?
Right now, we just started so we're learning a few covers before making originals, alternative is the genre we're shooting for, and we still need to decide a band name

Not to derail the thread, but Old Navy does have some nice threads. Most things don't have a logo and they have lots of old-man-argyle-print.

Hey, my Grandfather has fantastic taste in clothes.

Anyway though, it's on thanksgiving itself and not black friday I think, but I might be wrong. Either way, 20 bucks is a fair price.

Ok first of all, with all due respect, how can anyone call Rock Band a hardcore title with a straight face? It's essentially a glorified mini-game with "casual gamer" written all over it. Not saying it's bad or anything, don't personally see the attraction, but whatever.

As for the Lego thing, it's a cheap-ass toy tie-in. I already stated I don't get the whole Rock Band thing, making it out of Lego makes even less sense. But I don't get any of the Lego video games.

Pretty strongly disagree there man. I can only speak for Lego Star Wars but that's a fantastic game.

This I know. But Learn to Fly is a much better song than Breakout. Wanted Dead Or Alive and You Give Love a Bad Name is a tough one though.
I don't listen to much Foo Fighters of Bon Jovi, but I've liked the songs from both artists that have appeared in previous Rock Band games, so off of pedigree alone they are a factor in me buying the game. I just wish I hadn't invested initially in Wii instruments. It would be great to have all of these songs on one massive game as opposed to on three separate discs (well two since I refuse to buy Rock Band 1 on the Wii with it being the biggest rip off I have seen in a while).

Yes, to prove your point you would very much have to go on.
You've found 6 "bad" bands in Lego Rock Band and 13 "good" bands in both Rock Band 1 and 2 combined. If there are only 6 bad bands in Lego Rock Band, and there are only 13 good bands in 1 and 2 combined, then you have just proven the superiority of Lego Rock Band.

And that's before you even question whether or not they picked good songs by these supposedly good bands.

So yes, please go on until you have clearly shown that either 1 or 2 has more good songs, and less bad ones, then Lego Rock Band.
13 bands out of many.
Yes, there are many many songs in Rock Band 1 and 2 combined, yet you've only been able to name 13 good ones.
Hardly a recommendation...

Lego Rockband has a handful of good songs, the rest are shit. Rock Band 1 and 2 have many good songs and even more with DLC.
Quite a few of the DLC songs for Rock Band work in Lego Rock Band.
As I said. 13 off the top of my head not 13 all together.

No you didn't.
I'm not quite sure how I'm meant to learn to read things you haven't actually typed, but whatever...

Not that it matters. You asked if you needed to go on, I pointed out that you did, yet you seem unable to...
I listed some of the good bands. My comment "Need I Go on?" Was referring to me needing to list more great bands/songs that are in Rock Band 1 and 2 compared to Lego Rockband. But if I must...
Enter Sandman, Are you gonna be my Girl?, Ballroom Blitz, Back In Black, Black Hole Sun, Creep, Dani California, Detroit Rock City, Dont Fear The Reaper, Epic, Foreplay/Long Time, Flirtin With Diaster, Gimme Shelter, Highway Star, Highway to Hell, Learn To Fly, Mississipi Queen, Next To You, Orange Crush, Paranoid, Run To The Hills, Say It Aint So, The Hand That Feeds, Tom Sawyer, Wanted Dead Or Alive, Welcome Home, When You Were Young, Wont Get Fooled Again, Pleasure Pleasure, Countdown To Insanity, Hysteria, Hier Kommt Alex, Rock 'n' Roll Star.

Thats from Rockband 1 alone. Must I list Rb2s great songs aswell?
Well you've listed less than half the set list of Rock Band 1 as being good (and at least 1 song that wasn't even on that set list), and yet only 6 bad songs from Lego Rock Band.

So that still very much suggests that Lego Rock Band is the better one of the two.
Maybe you should go on to Rock Band 2, you might have better luck there.

I prefer the songs.

But the reason why your claim still results in Lego Rock Band being better is because you've given less than half the Rock Band 1 songs as being good yet only 6 Lego songs being bad.
Therefore, more than half the Rock Band 1 songs are bad and every one but 6 of the Lego songs are good.

To which I respond by saying that "casual game" is by no means synonymous "easy" or "unchallenging". And I'd also like to remind you that I never said that Rock Band was a bad game, I was just saying I don't see how it could be called a hardcore game. And while we're on the subject, the term "casual game" isn't a derogatory term, or at least I didn't intend it as such; if you took it that way, then that's YOUR problem.

Ok, fine. I'll be the one who is FOR Lego Rock Band because I actually PLAYED it.

First off, maybe not worth $60. But at Old Navy they are going to give it away with a $20 purchase.

Short review: It's a fuckin' fun game. Just like every Rock Band game is. Some shit songs, some great songs....again, like every Rock Band game. It's worth playing because of the imagination that went into the game. It's not a quick cash-in. The game literally lets you live in the hyperbolic world of rock.

Want to tear down a building with the power of rock? Fucking hell yes!
Want to rock out in outer space because the Earth can't hold all your rock? YES!
Want to use the power of rock to save lives? YESSS!!!!!!!

The nods to classic rock folk-lore is there too and the story is very very interesting to say the least.

It's not much of a review, but go out and rent it. You'll end up waiting in line at Old Navy on Friday. Maybe you'll even be at my local Old Navy.

Bring your sister.

The point is,That Lego has ripped of major franshises to make a quick buck.Oneday there is going to be a lego game based off of a Quality thing that will drive people over the edge.TV shows are one of those things that can be cartoony, and videogames barely makes the line. One day they may make something like Lego CSI,or Lego Halo(UNLIKELY,DON'T SCREAM OVER IT,ITS AN EXAMPLE) and make something popular look like something That disney beat with their cuddly sticks and got raped by 4Kids.

People like certain things and it hurtas them when its made fun of,and Lego is doing something like that.

Lego Rock Bands songs that are good.
Breakout, Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, The Final Countdown, Fire, Free Fallin, Kung Fu Fighting, The Passenger, Rooftops, Short and Sweet, Song 2, We are the Champions, We Will rock you and You Give love a bad name.
13 good songs in Lego Rock Band.
34 on Rock Band 1.
Now, Need I go on some more? Or has my point finally made it through your skull?
Lol, it took you this long to work out what I was saying and you're wondering about my skull?

Anyway, now that's over, I make my main point:
Musical taste is purely subjective. I like what I like. Who are you to tell me that the songs I like are bad and that I'm not allowed to prefer the set list of one game over another?

They wouldn't allow it, at least I don't think it would.

In all seriousness there is only so far that Lego can go, I can deem it impossible that they can snatch any popular franchises because they would never give permission for such a thing.
