All I heard was a buddy of mine going on about 2 in the morning Friday and free Lego Rock Band. By free Lego Rock Band I mean he buys the clothing, I get the game for driving him there. So that means a free attempt at a horrid rendition of "The Passenger" by Iggy Pop sung by yours truely.

Lego will inevidably fail but Im concerned for rock band and guitar hero. After you got the band instraments out where can you go from there? the only way you can make somthing a sequel instead of a sequel is if you wanted to make a new design or you have a new, small, completly optional mechanic into the game.

....But now they've ripped off the hardcore game Rockband....
You lost me on that sentence. When was Rock Band/Guitar Hero a "hardcore" game?
Uggh..just saying that word gives me a headache.
I'd like to see you do Visions on expert your first go.
I'd rather play a real instrument. That's hardcore.
I have to agree, I may be pretty bad at rockband but I would never discribe a casual rythem game as hardcore, learning to play a real instrument would be much more hardcore.

I dig Lego games, they're all fun and stuff, unlike some other games... Making people rage and be generally angry all the time... Rockband however shouldn't have gone Lego...

LOL am i the onli one who thinks that imahobbit4062 is one crazy fanboy? i mean u are arguing which song list is better??? there ARE people who like all the so called "bad" songs and "bad" bands that you've mentioned (incidentally i actually like all the songs and dislike all the so called "bad" bands u've mentioned. To say that your own preference of songs are better than others is just lame.

You sir are basically some immature young boy saying oh i like chicken! chicken taste the best! you like beef therefore you're gay!!! omgwtfbbq noobz!

and seriously dude, chill out when people say rockband/guitar hero are casual games. stop your "oh you can't play vision on expert on first try = this is a hardcore game" stance. Go and learn to play the guitar FFS. people like you think you are the best musician just cuz you can finger tab on some plastic toy.

anyway back on thread: lego games always seems to target the younger crowd. as you realise the songs on their list are mostly "meh" songs regarded by rock enthusiastics but well regarded by younger kids. I mean "boys like girls"???? lol i can totally imagine little girls playing them and screaming

LEGO Rock Band? Lame idea.

Then you play it, and it's basically Rock Band 2 with improved hammer-ons and a basic LEGO story. It's actually really good.

You never know,This is the first group set to make guitar games.I don't put it above em to make a new guitar with changeable cases, after all, they did it for the XBOX360 and a few controllers.

I'm learning how to play bass. Not so easy as I thought.

Hahaha my thoughts exactly.

Don't worry the game will not succeed, who the hell would by that game just to see their avatars made of lego blocks? As if the current Rock Band isn't pathetic enough already.
So far, I know that some Toy'r'us stores are sold out while Target as a lot left over.

It looks fun. It is 45 songs for $60, so if nothing else, it is a bargain when compared to buying all the songs for DLC, not that I would necessarily buy every song on the disc. I am kind of annoyed because the set list could be longer, but Harmonix and Activision are both intent on providing the fewest songs possible on a disc and milking us for DLC money as long as possible.

Ok, heres my view

Lego = Bad people

They are reselling a game exactly the same, except with different characters.

People are going to pay 60$ dollars.... so their Rockstar can be made of blocks?
Really? Which games are they ripping off of for Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Batman and Lego Star Wars? Near as I can tell, everyone of those games played much differently from any game from the series they were based off of.

Reread the post. Where did I say they copied Lego Indiana Jones/Batman/Star Wars? I said they are basicly reselling Rock Band, but with legos.

What makes me angry at Lego is that they aren't even TRYING to be creative anymore, its 100% about the money. So, they'll take something popular, make it exactly like the game they are copying, and make an immense profit. It frustrates me at the point of greed they're at. lego Indiana Jones/ ect.? Those were fine, a little frustrating seeing them copy something so popular, but fine, they were decent. But this is just stupid.

I'm sorry. I hit quote on the wrong person. I have no idea how that happened.

Just an obvious cash in. Ignore it and move on.
Have to disagree on that one. Cheesy? Sure. Cash-in? What rhythm game isn't.

However, it's still a good collection of songs that's fun in a social setting executed to the same standard as any other Rock Band game.
