THIRTY FREE GAMES?

I wish these guys the best of luck, hopefully this will open up China's government to allow more video gaming into the country.

"A healthy, patriotic activity"...? There just seems something disturbing and absurd about that wording.
You've gotta admire their ability to stay on-message: "One nation, under Our Glorious Leader's Boot."

In case you were wondering, "Boot" is capitalized because it belongs to Dear Leader, and to leave it in lowercase is an offense that warrants immediate execution.

It's my understanding the Chinese market is full of knock offs and strange associated consoles.

Like I heard of this thing (don't remember the name) that was like a very chunky gamepad that plugged directly into a television and was basically a small N64. Wait, Here it is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IQue_Player

It is actually properly licensed from Nintendo though has a very small collection of games and has been around since about 2003.

It's a weird market though Nintendo seem to be quite invested in the market via the iQue brand.

Gee, I would be quaking in my boots if I was Microsoft right now, nothing works better and is more sophisticated than Chinese Electronics......oh wait.

Lol, they even shamelessly stole the Xbox's name, seriously? How fucking hard is it to come up with a NAME.

Yeah, that's what I recall. I remember having to filter through news reports a couple months back looking for something about Chinese knockoff cell phones that were exploding and burning the users badly. But I can't remember why.

I am amused at all the references to Ashen's reviews.

And by the fact that the call center I work at has Lenovo computers. I never heard of them before but I am amused at the fact they are chinese. Twould explain why there have been so many issues with them.

I can only assume you're unaware of exactly how many big-name computer companies have factories in China, both for whole computers and for components.

What do you think? It's China.
I live in Hong Kong and personally, almost every single thing China does forces me to facepalm.
Are you really allowed to say that?

"but only in China for now, where the big three have no presence."

No *official* presence. Most of the hacked Xboxes in the secondary market come from Japan via China.

Can this thing play online games? Because a Chinese "games console" with a built in video camera and internet access just says "Telescreen [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telescreen]" to me.
