So the gay stereotype is well known (i guess), but how about a stereotype for lesbians?
I live in the same house as 2, and i don't really notice much difference from straight women.
This is not meant offensively in any way

I thought the general stereotype was that there is a feminine and a masculine woman in each relationship.

Not that this should be necessary given the context but: I am aware that this is frequently not the case. Hence why I said it was the stereotype.

I think the typical Lesbian Stereotype is very short hair (1/2 - 1 inch), lots of tattoos, somewhat overweight, deep voice, and acts like guys.

The main stereotype is that they all drive bikes, have leather jackets, have mohawks, and are ugly as sin.
This, of course, is untrue.

It all depends on the individual, natch. I've met (and slept with) lesbians who fit every stereotype in the book.

Most lesbians I know or at least met, have alot of negative attitude towards men and at least some of it also go to the women who are housewives. It's weird because gay men normally don't have a negative attitude at all. As a guy, I found it hard to talk to some lesbians without being down upon.

Likewise...

My friends range from one extreme to the other, Never been to hot into stereotyping myself but I would be a hypocrite if I said I didn't :(

Well there's definitely the whole "dyke" stereotype.

You know, ultra-masculine, probably short hair, muscular, doing traditionally manly activities, all that jazz.

I'm somewhat aware of the opposite stereotype, but I haven't encountered it often.

My token lesbian friend belongs more so to the first category... She's got really short hair, can be mistaken for a guy by some people, and her favorite hobby is boxing.

The stereotype for guys is usually based on the most visible sub-set. I have known a hell of a lot of gay blokes that you would never know were gay unless they told you.

The lesbian stereotype is usually sort of butch, mullet-having, boot wearing, keys/wallet on a chain sort. And to be honest while I don't have a mullet a lot of that is actually pretty true for me. However, I am also aware that the stereotype is largely defective and tends to hark back to the days of butch/femme which hasn't been the way it is for everyone for something like 40 years.

I have known (sometimes in the biblical sense) lesbians who bind their chest and wear socks down their pants and lesbians that look like models. The rules just don't count any more and that is a very good thing. Now people can just be themselves without needing to put on some sort of uniform.

But I will keep my jeans/boots/short hair somewhat dykey look because it suits me and I'm comfy and that is all that matters.

Also I live in a house of 4 lesbians and 1 horribly out numbered straight bloke and everyone is different and unique and I wouldn't have it any other way =)

The stereotypes I am aware of is that they are either frighteningly ugly, or stupidly hot. Neither of these are uniformly true.

I thought it was that lesbians tend to be tomboy-ish; you know, girls who are comfortable in trackpants, drink beer, punch you in the arm and are generally great mates. Maybe this is just my stereotype... This is an issue for me, because I find that very attractive... :(

Oh if only I were a lady... *stares off into the distance*

I've met some dashing young lesbians in my time, and I've met some down right scary ones.

But the stereotype of one being the man and another female hasn't held true in the people I've encountered, only twice.

Both of the lesbians I know are eccentric girls with ASD - I know it's not much of a stereotype but they are both incredibly similar despite living halfway across the country from each other.
