Well common stereotypes are either Masculine ones or just the "I'm so hot and sexy" ones. That's the stereotypical outlook I see them as.

Calumon: Ermm... I er...

Jack: I'll tell you later Calumon.

I guess I must be the only one with a different view of the "Lesbian Stereotype".

One of my closest friends is BiSexual, but she prefers women to men, and she is unbelieveable attractive and friendly, with a generally positive attitude to everything. She doesn't engage in the typical manly activties (Sure, she wants to come to Airsoft with me eventually, but that's beside the point), and she hasn't got short hair.

Another woman I know is a Lesbian, she's a little older than me, but also attractive and, in fact, quite girly.

That is how I have experianced Homosexual/Bisexual Women.

Big butch feminists with very short hair and (ironically) incredibly manly.

That's what I thought the stereotype was anyway.

I don't really know about a lesbian 'Stereotype' but the only two lesbians I know, both in my music set, are fairly pretty and quite girly.

On a side note, a straight girl I know is not really at all girly. She has a habit punching you on the arm and is in the Air Cadets. Nice lass though...

I have a lot of friends who are gay/lesbians that aren't the stereotype gay/lesbians. But most lesbians I've seen in shows are short haired....Yeah...I don't have much.

I think there is the general stereotype that people have of lesbians, which is probably a holdover from the days of fear mongering about how we are evil and were coming to take away your women. Another stereotype (at least on t.v) is that all we want is to have babies. Lots and lots of babies.

Funny story (at least, I think it is) - back when I was still at a Big 4 firm, a co-worker and I used to play a game with other people on our team. We called it "Guess the Jew, Guess the Lesbian". Both of us were Jewish, but at the time we played the game, I was the only lesbian. What is funny is that since we phrased the game as guess one, guess the other, no-one ever clued in as to the fact that one of us could be both, so I was always chosen as the Jew, while my friend was the Lesbian. We both had long hair (mid-back), I just wore mine loose, and she wore hers back in a ponytail. Also maybe the fact that she mostly wore black suits, while I had a navy one AND a light gray one (what can I say, I was an adventurous auditor.) It's even funnier now that she's come to terms with her sexuality as we both identify as lesbians and Jews. Oooh, I'm going to call her up and see if she's interested in doing that sometime soon.

I know lots of lesbians , some in my class and school even , and i never noticed a difference between them and straight girls.
Except that they french kiss every half a second in public.
Most lesbians are also prettier than straight girls in my area for some reason 0_o.
Lesbians are also far more friendly than the straight women , especially the ones that are a bit manly because (Just like gay guys with straight girls) its easy to spill your soul out when talking to them.

The stereotype is very masculine, short hair, piercings, tattoos, men's clothing and a dislike for all things girly.
It's quite strange how some lesbians are attracted to women who look like men...
That's why I'm confused that men like girls kissing, or porn lesbians.

I can somewhat understand the "take away the women" part, but I really see no logic in the baby thing. Especially the way you put it... Who comes up with these things =p

I thought it was that lesbians tend to be tomboy-ish; you know, girls who are comfortable in trackpants, drink beer, punch you in the arm and are generally great mates. Maybe this is just my stereotype... This is an issue for me, because I find that very attractive... :(

Oh if only I were a lady... *stares off into the distance*
I second that notion. Tomboyish girls are awesome.

The only thing that comes to mind was a previous (sort of) Lesbian thread thread talking about Video game portrayal of the female bodies, while arguing that said lesbian really likes boobs, with the infamous "WTF Who put a computer in the kitchen" first response.

I'm sorry, I'm pretty useless.

Men like women. Men, at least the really straight ones, don't like men.

Therefore... 1+0=1 in case of straight porn with 1 man and 1 woman.
And 1+1=2 in case of, well, 2 women.

Or something like that, I'm not too sure given my bisexuality.

In our common sessions of "Banter", my friends and I have all agreed that the general stereotype is one butch and one tiny.
