I feel the same way. I just bought Borderlands, and now everything else is falling by the wayside. I do (or at least, used to) finish almost everything on the computer, but console games rarely have the meat to keep me interested.Lvl 64 Klutz said:Orrrr.... people just don't have decent attention spans anymore. Or time for that matter. I always try to finish every game I start, and lately I've been rather disappointed in myself, because I keep getting distracted by other games.
This. The most salient fact of the survey is that the demographic it studies can reasonably be said to have a preference for online/multiplayer titles or modes. The people who are hardcore into single-player gaming probably aren't going to invest the time or the money into an online subscription service.Doug said:In my case, I completed several games in offline mode, and when I eventually got a xbox gold, couldn't be bothered to redo many of them just for the sake of achievements.
Also, this is misleading - for example, it is NOT 45% of XBox gamers who bought Fable 2 who did complete it, its 45% of XBox Live gamers who did complete it.
In the case of XBox, the online data collection is bias towards multiplayer fans who play it enough to pay for the subscription.
You know, that's just silly. Yeah, Vista is a resource hog- it's certainly not meant to be a gaming platform- but it's ludicrous to try to say it's the fault of the operating system manufacturer that their product is not optimized for a single game. News flash: there are plenty of games that ran flawlessly on Vista. No, the problem is that Rockstar barely did any testing on the port that they shoveled out the door.Exocet said:Never finished GTA4,but only because I had to reinstall shitty Windows 3/4 of the way into the game and never got the courage to do all those driving missions playing like a powerpoint presentation.
In conclusion,GTA4 was decent, the port sucked balls but it's all Vista's fault.
Did I say Microsoft Vista was the cause of the bad port? No.solidstatemind said:You know, that's just silly. And go get Win7. It's awesome for gaming.
Ah... well, I can see that. Entirely legitimate. However (you knew it was coming ), take a look at the above sentence that I bolded. It would've been clearer if you said: "the port sucked balls but it's all Vista's fault that I didn't finish the game." The way you put it made it sound like you were yet another of the mindless Microsoft bashers that crop up on these forums from time to time.Exocet said:Did I say Microsoft Vista was the cause of the bad port? No.solidstatemind said:You know, that's just silly. Vista croaked for no good reason, deleting all my game's saves and couple pictures I didn't put on my other hard-drive.
So the fact that I didn't want to start over was due to the fact my saves were gone, and my saves were gone because of vista.
So it's Vista's fault.There.
I, sir, have defended my argument and await any potential rebutals.
