Looks like shit.

I fucking hate the idea of this. It looks horrible and it's going to bring shame to the first one.

The original was a love story between a boy and a girl who just happens to be a vampire. Crazy shit ensues but for the most part, it's a love story, not some grizzly horror.

That, unfortunately is what this looks like. They're turning it into a darker Twilight type movie with major emphasis on horror aspects. Fuck, even the title sucks.

"Let Me In"

It just sounds too forceful.
Did you lift that from my review?

...Shameless self-advertising, I know.

Pointless. Looks exactly the same as the original. ARE YOU PEOPLE THAT STUPID THAT YOU WON'T READ SUBTITLES? God you yanks do piss me off sometimes.

This looks like a fucking scene-by-scene remake.

So, all they did was re-inact the original movie with American actors?!

Good Christ, can't these people just read the fucking subtitles? Is this really such a chore?
Exactly this.

I'm not sure what it is with the greater American public (And I'm well aware not all Americans are like this) and foreign films. There's a certain mindset that Americans can't empathize with characters unless they're American. Now, I don't know how true that is, but Hollywood seems to believe it and that leads to shit like this.

It just seems so pointless.
OK you said what I was thinking but with less rage and more sense. Kudos.

*generic patriotic outrage*

Wait, no. I actually agree with you. I don't understand it. It's a pretty distinct contradiction in our country.
OK you said exactly what I was thinking only with less rage and more sense. Kudos.

It's by the director of Cloverfield, nuff said.

Actually no, that's not enough said. I just watched the original because somewhere on the forums I read that this was an excellent Vampire/Romance movie, like Twilight only amazing. The imagery, the acting, the connection between Eli and Oskar, the horrors of adolescence, it brought tears to my eyes just to see how innocent and victimized they both felt. It blurred the line between good and evil without ever actually drawing a line. And what do they do in the f*cking trailer. They have some little bastard say, "Do you think there's such a thing as evil." As much as Hollywood may think Americans are stupid I have evidence proving that a great majority are not. If you haven't seen the original GO DO IT, it's by far the best vampire movie since Dracula and Nosferatu itself.
