Nice. Looking forward to seeing how long my namesake survives.

Are migrant waves still showing up "despite the danger" or is that message no longer appearing?

I got screentime! Because my husband died! I'm... really not sure how to feel about this.

Oh well, at least now my dwarf has something to set her apart. I am going to fucking murder the next elephant that shows up!

*gasp* 4 days since the last update! where are you? [/joke]

I've been coming onto this thread twice a day, and I think that I now have enough evidence I have too much spare time.

Hmmm, Kraken doesn't seem to have been online at all (or at least not the Escapist) in almost a week. I hope nothing unfortunate happened.

Is Kraken from London? Hope things are OK.
Things weren't really that bad in the city. My brother was on holiday in London during the height of the trouble, he didn't actually know there was any trouble until my dad texted him and they started pouring out cops all over town. Go figure.

Regardless, still wondering what's up. Your eager fans are waiting Kraken!

Where I am/was it's been silent. Nearest it's gotten is a failure of a Hit and Run at Wembley Park [near the stadium]. They were arrested.

How does a lion manage to take down a giant worm made of fire, without getting set on fire itself?
Try not to think about it too much, seriously.

It is a game where creatures on opposite ends of a map, are capable of breeding.

There's many theories to the various elements of Dwarf Fortress!

As for me, I'm also a DF player, not the best in the world, but, I can roughly get everything down.

Good to see an up and running Let's Play of it, and so far, your fortress has been rather enjoyable to observe.

Yeah, don't actually play Dwarf Fortress too much myself (I'm terrible at it but I do love the game.) but I've read a few LP's of it and the thing I enjoy most of the game is probably the weird randomness of it at times.

It's a really good game if you can find something to stick you on it for a bit, and if you're struggling, you can always do stuff like increasing the embark points to give you a little more support in the start and what-not, generally, I think persistence really pays off though.

As for randomness, Dwarf Fortress really is the pinnacle of randomness.

I can cite an example once when I had a solider, the hero of my fortress, Legendary swordsmen, fighter and a bunch of other stuff, clad in a suit of Adamantine. I dispatched him and a group of 4 other highly ranked soldiers to chase off a small goblin invasion.

A few moments into the fight, the legendary swordsman gets hit by a copper arrow, falling to the ground, first I thought he was just stunned, moments go by, he suffocates while the rest are fighting, they end up killing the goblins.

Anyway, turns out the copper arrow had bruised the dwarf through the plate armour, chipping his spine, instantly incapacitating him, he then suffocated.

I was not best pleased. I tend to get too attached to dwarves, especially those who've been around a while and obtained such accolades.

Ah, I see. The "animal breeding via pollination" method. That one is tricky to master!

The hell you talking about? Animals breed with spores! Pollination would imply that there's some kind of physical touching involved between two different creatures.
