I've watched waaaay too many shows with Tara Strong doing the voices in it.
And now, because you demanded it:

The Blockbuster hit of the year: Nolan North and Tara Strong Are...

EVERYONE!

Coming this summer to a theater near you

And the sad part is, i actually think that it might actually be able to work as an animated feature.
I'd pay a few bucks to see that.

Its disappointing that this is the sort of game that sells. The sexualization and fetishism of violence these days not to mention in your face adult themes is a cheap thrill that sells. It also does nothing to stem the tide of complaints that gaming is nothing but sex, drugs and rock and roll. I know that not all games are going to be non-violent peaceful games but it seems like titles with this type of atmosphere are becoming more and more common.

Worse than assholes who immediately assume things about people without doing any research or looking at other websites? In other words, people like you?
Just report him and move along.
Your right. We should ignore obnoxious assholes.

Honestly, I'm with the in the "could give less than a shit" department. I am a firm believer in the concept of whatever floats your boat. I kind of have to, I watch anime and I don't want to be a hypocrite.

But I don't go online to look at pictures of ponies. I don't go to gaming sites to look at pictures of ponies. I don't go on youtube to look at videos of ponies. and yet everywhere I go I am bombarded with it! I get it, you people like a show, go watch it instead of plastering it everywhere! Is it because it is an odd thing to like? some kind of "special snowflake" instinct? I will stop being a so-called "obnoxious asshole" when I stop having to look at the hundredth crossover MLP pic THAT DAY.

I mean shit, people! I avoid things about the show because it does not interest me, yet I can name every single pony because apparently you people can't like a show without advertising it everywhere!

this looks fun yes. At the end of the day however, if I want to see electric boobs I will just watch porn.
If there isn't already a market for people sexing while wearing lights of some kind you should probably jump on that.

I see a fortune in your future.

Call it "Sporn: The Future of Adult Entertainment".

Maybe throw a greenscreen behind the windows of the room and have galaxies and stuff going by.

I...I think I'd watch it.

Not sure if it'd be any GOOD, but, hell...I've probably watched/played worse.

To be honest I agree with you but I believe this game was way better the second time through and here is why. By the end of the first you could hardly upgrade her to play fluid. Once you beat it you have half of the combos and items to finally play graceful enough to continue and actually have more to upgrade through the second time to still make it fun. And as for Nick he stole the show. Well worth my time for his jokes alone.

I'm sorry, but how is it that hard to avoid things your not interested in? I'm legitimately confused on how this isn't avoidable. Here for example you could scroll past The MLP comments. Are people spamming you pony messages every 5 seconds or something? (Ignoring the fact you have been quoted multiple times in this thread.)

Anyway. I really have nothing to say on this game. I picked it up based on a friend's recommendation and it's not that bad. I can't really say anything else until I beat it.

A hyper-sexualized girl who weilds a chainsaw, has other-wordly powers, and likes to eat lolipops? That sounds familiar...

Although to be fair, she doesn't have that as one of her main weapons.
Yea, but she can have rocket launchers on her feet.

And the combat in Bayonetta sounds streets ahead of Lollipop. You think Suda would learn after making the same game (gameplay wise) multiple times......but apparently I think he is better at idea pitching then actual game making.

Played it so much last weekend that I managed to Platinum it. First time I've unlocked a platinum trophy in any game in two years. Played through it around 4 times.
LC is probably my favourite game in the hack'n slash genre.

The only thing I dislike about this game is that it seems to attract a lot of little girls. Or atleast I hope it's nothing else than little girls.
If it's one thing this game has taught it is that these "bronies"(?) are a bunch of sad people who's desperately seeking other people like them selves. They're doing this by pushing this MLP bullshit into every unrelevant thing just so they can show of how pathetic they're community is.

"Bronies" are one of the worst thing on the internets these days, and the day these people grow up and release how stupid MLP is, will be a glorius day.
(Sorry for going off topic here, but I've yet to find a place were Lollipop Chainsaw is mentioned, without a bunch of MLP fanboys trying to turn this game into something MLP relevant.)
Agreed. I have no problem if you like the show. But not everything needs to be ponified or crossed over with MLP.

Now if you'll excuse me I have to Cross the Metroid Universe with the Warhammer 40k universe and see what happens. FOR SCIENCE!

Clearly you don't know Suda51. This really is par for the course with him. And we wouldn't have it any other way with him. He's the Quentin Tarantino of gaming.

I'd have to keep pausing the game to... do laundry for 20 mins, with my door locked.

Ironically featuring Steven Blum in the lead role.
With a cameo from Mark Hamill playing The Joker.
HEY KIDS! IT'S MARK HAMILL! *applause*

Also guest starring Sean Connery and Christopher Lee as the bickering Narrators.

Ya know, I liked this game and I enjoyed it for what it is, but its one of those games that kind of makes me embarrassed to play video games. I mean, not that I have a problem with picking up the game or anything. Its just one of those games that makes it hard to take gaming seriously. Juliet is a parody of a parody, yes, but the average person doesn't know that. People see marketing for this game and they think that is what we, as gamers, look for and desire in a female.

Yes, its a parody and it was made with a purpose in mind, but the average Joe isn't going to notice that. They'll simply see posters with Juliet seductively devouring a lollipop in a skimpy outfit and shape their heads in confusion and disappointment. I mean, I know we like to pretend that we don't give a shit about what other people think, but we also feel the urge to DEFEND gaming as well. Lollipop Chainsaw doesn't make that easier to do.

That aside, I had a blast with the game. It was a fun beat-'em-up and I loved Michael Rosenbaum as Nick! Little on the short side, I am surprised that wasn't mentioned more.
I know this is a hot topic at the moment, but I'm having a hard time dismissing this issue when games like this keep being made. Aside from whether the game is well-made or not, the following objections were both invited and justified by the game's presentation:

Yes, Juliet is a parody of a parody, but one that's STILL designed as an earnest sex object. That's just... dishonest. It's another game with a female protagonist as imagined by men to titillate other men. What female protagonists can you recall that weren't male fantasies? Can you name more than three without resorting to silent protagonists or create-your-own-character RPGs? I can name... Heather Mason and... uh, Lightning from FFXIII I guess? And... that one from the abysmal Amy horror game? And Alice from the American McGee arguably. Amaterasu from Okami if we count female animals.

On the other hand - Juliet, Bayonetta, Lara Croft (hopefully not anymore in the new game), BloodRayne, the Heavenly Sword chick, the X-blades chick, the Wet chick, the Velvet Assassin chick, the Blades of Time chick...

Again, the question isn't whether this is inherently wrong (it isn't) but whether having it as a rule is a sign of exclusivity and sexism. Imagine if every movie was just like Sucker Punch.

Lollipop Chainsaw Review

If a bubbly cheerleader dicing zombies with a magical chainsaw gets boring, something's gone horribly wrong.

Kind of a strange star rating given the rest of the review. Seems more like you'd want to give it a two.

OT: Game is totally uninteresting to me, but dat girl is so pwerty <3

Yay for hormones.
Honestly, I struggled a bit with the rating but, in the end, still felt it deserved a three. When I say that the gameplay is workable and mediocre, I mean just that: middle of the road. As disappointing as it is, it's at least not broken (which is more than can be said for many games). Also, while things get boring eventually, I had a pretty enjoyable 2.5 - 3 hours up front. That may not sound like much, but in the context of a seven hour experience, it's something.

The game isn't worthless, just maybe not worth $60. ;-D

I get ya. It's one of those instances where a two feels undeservedly cruel, but (at least to me) a three seems a bit too generous for the amount of quality you get. It can be kind of tricky to sum up your opinion of a game with a single simplistic element. I've personally never cared much about scores or stars or whatever else. I think they can detract from a review in some cases; sadly, a lot of people skim over a review and then look to the final score for the gist. It's easy to give someone the wrong idea.

Was almost positive that I was going to pass on this one, then I heard the little "You speak Japanese!" dialog at the end of the video. Hi-larious. Sounds rent-worthy at least.

No f-ing way that's worth $60 though.
