Long hair on men?

I used to have shoulder length hair and carried it quite well but it was such a mission to keep looking good because it was so thick and bushy. My girlfriend loved it but I got sick of it and wanted to grow a beard without looking like Jesus so I cut it short.
My hair's down to my ass. I don't care much about seeing it on other men though. Also pretty buff so it's hard to mistake me for a girl.
I agree it looks average on most people but this picture sums up long hair on guys. Left is bad and right is sweet.

That was hilariously bad, but I couldn't be bothered getting it cut. Suffice to say very blonde [Light ash blonde], just beyond shoulder length, and my hair naturally curls itself so it was all starting to curl in and point upwards from about shoulder height. It looked incredibly messy, stupid and kinda like one of my female friend's hair is ATM, only not as well kept, and blonde rather than very dark blue.

mines come down to the bottom of the neck when wet,front hair passed my nose. mine is also curly.
I wish I could pull off long hair, but my curls get in the way. I mean don't get me wrong curls are nice, but you can't do anything with it.
I like guys with medium length hair, I'm more into the Emo hair styles... not sure why they are hot to me they just are.
The really long hair doesn't work the same way... a guy has to have right face to pull it off and even then its still meh to me. I respect someone who can pull it off though.

I am in envy of men who can grow their hair long and suit it. My hair turns into ringlets after about six inches and my face is too long to suit such a hairstyle.
I'm am secretly jealous of my closest friend because he had long, beautiful hair all the way down to his waist that suited him so well every time he met a new bunch of people at least one woman in the group would follow him like a puppy. Then he cut his hair short and he looks equally handsome.

If men do not cut their hair, then it gets long as nature intended. Therefore there is nothing wrong with it, and anybody who thinks there is, is an idiot as far as I am concerned.
Personally I wish I looked good with long hair. Or rather, had hair that would look good long.
That said, I do not have long hair, nor will I as it simply does not look right on me. I think some people can pull it off a lot better than others.

In 2005, I started growing my hair right after my Military contract was expired. At max length, it was right above my rear. In 2010, the girlfriend, daughter, and I all donated to Locks of Love.
I would love to grow it out again, but it's starting the growing process that takes the longest. Yes, if you have the right facial structure for it, by all means have it long, so long as it looks professional when it needs to. Me, I have a very feminine/boyish face when I am clean shaven that the longer hair worked for me, added to the fact that my hair is straight until it gets to the wavy-bits at the end.

I have long hair. It comes down to about to almost the middle of my back. I've had it for quite a while now though it doesn't seem to be getting any longer. I probably don't look after it as well as i should, though most people say it looks nice and that it suits me. To honest, i wouldn't mind it being a bit longer and a bit straighter, but I like it all the same.
My hair is at shoulder length (think of Prince Of Persia), so I suppose that counts as long. So yeah, I like it, if it looks good. Also, my girlfriend's got short hair, in reply to the other thread you made about short hair on females.

Why? I was curious, I've always had long hair since I was about 10 years old... and I mean looooooong hair. But when I had it cut, I got very mixed reactions, some thought it was good, others thought it looked terrible. Personally I prefer it long.
I keep it clean, tied back when needed and it looks very good, I'm lucky, my hair genes are awesome.
And no I've never been mistaken for gay because of it.

Like everyone's said, only about 10% of people can actually pull it off. Almost everyone I've seen with long hair loves it but looks ridiculous. Don't be one of those people.
The interesting part is that out of everyone I've known, 90% of the people who have cut their hair short have wished they had done it sooner. I wonder if there's a correlation there.
