It's entertaining. That and the subliminal messages in the videos!
And the people here are friendly and hilarious

Why do I keep coming back?

Wow... That is a very good question.

I sit here now, listening to Sky Eats Airplane Cage The Elephant and pondering the question at hand and, honestly, I can't give you a reason.

At first, I came here to watch Zero Punctuation. Now, I choose to watch almost anything over it. It has become extremely unfunny and continues to get worse as more and more come out. So that cannot be the reason I come back.

I joined the forums due to the topics that I kept seeing and, seeing as though I enjoy an intelligent conversation from time to time, I decided to create a profile. I started with my posting being at a severe minimum and regret a lot of my early posts as well as my first thread.

The user's I learned to count on seeing each and every time I opened a thread have long since disappeared or nearly stopped posting due to many circumstances. (I miss you Juan, doki, taxi) Doesn't apply for me, as I'm fairly new...

Thread's that actually stimulate my mind have become very few and far between and I have taken on the habit of posting in threads that catch my attention and have few posts so that my opinion may be heard seeing as threads with more than a page seem to go unread after the first six or seven posts.

I, unlike other users, don't often get PM's from others. I guess I don't make much of an impression on people around here. Which is quite alright with me. It just rules out coming here to check my messages.

This rules out many a few reasons to come to this site.

On the other hand, I do enjoy seeing some of the newer users. A few of them tend to bring back some of the intelligent discussion that had been lost over my stay so far. (Doesn't count for me) I also enjoy watching the movie reviews that MovieBob does as he seems to influence my want to see a movie a lot now.

I suppose my return here multiple times per day has to stem from habit and the feel of acceptance. I don't like change and removing my trips to The Escapist would give me a tremendous chunk of free time that I have no idea what to do with. I also feel accepted here. I converse with many people of tastes similar to mine and feel like I belong to a group of people that understand me and my hobbies for once. (Though I will never understand this site's love for anything AC/DC, Metallica, Opeth, or anything of the like; or anything made by Valve)

So I thank you Escapist and its community. Thank you for giving me a place to spend my free time.
With a few changes this sums up my reasons fairly well...
Thank you Gxas...

Well, the majority of people on this site aren't trolls, ididots, fanboys and other undesirables.

Also, it's my homepage, so I pretty come here in the first place, and don't bother closing it.

He said Max is notable...
(Straight from TheFreeDictionary.com)
no-ta-ble
adj.

1. Worthy of note or notice; remarkable.
I never thought Max's posts were worthy of notice, or remarkable... They caught my attention just the same as everyone else.
Exactly. It's just that there's a lot of his posts floating around. So he's just a spammer. Mostly.

And congrats on hitting 1k!
I'm sure I'm not the only person who read this in an incredibly patronising voice.

'Bah, come back when you have at least 18000.'
Heh.
noooo, I'm not gonna lord it over people.
That would just be ridiculously stupid.
It honestly makes me smile to see someone get to 1k without getting banhammered.

I do love this community too. I had to leave for a few months because of study commitments, and even though I'm still in the thick of it now I'm finding some time to post because you guys are fantastic and I enjoy being on here. It's just a good website basically.
I havent been around a lot lately because of school as well, but your last sentence summed it up nicely.

I probably could have put it a little more eloquently than that, but that's very nice of you! Good too see you again.

Aye good to see as well. Speaking of eloquence, I just finished reading the marijuana thread, you had good points. Even though some of your posts made my head hurt :p
But man, I was gone longer than I thought, the bottom of the second page of my quoted inbox says July 7th.

That whole argument made my head hurt, but I always get into them on those threads seeing as I have very conservative views on the matter. Just the way it is. Ha! Some of mine were like from April 14th or something!
