I love the Zelda games. But I won't get a Wii to play this one. Know why? Twilight Princess, a game for the GAMECUBE, had better graphics than this. GAMECUBE.

And here I thought Zelda was a lesbian...

<.<
¬_¬...

Stop staring...
She could always be bi...
Bi is great. It just means she likes what I like and I also have a chance. Why aren't there more bi girls in the world.

OT (and slightly less creepy): Resolution could use some work, but it looks like a deep game so i might pick it up.

So does Link's.

BRING IT.
Your days are numbered, my friend. Use them well.
Links face does look very very odd though..
I miss the cute little Link from OoT :(
I actually don't think it looks odd. I don't really miss the OoT design. What I do miss is the adorable Link and his little sister from Wind Waker. WW is the best looking Zelda game, and I don't even mean "for its time". It looks far better than Twilight Princess.
To be honest, I think Wind Waker is a better game than Ocarina of Time.
Oh, and.... *coughmajorasmasksuckscough*
Lets make this a double suicide, wind waker was my favorite 3d game and minish cap is better than link to the past
I never played A Link to the Past. Shoot me, oldschoolers! (I played the NES games when they were new though, so IN YO FACES)
I'm inclined to agree...the faces in this trailer were off-putting. I personally have no grudge against any of the Legend of Zelda titles. Each title provided an experience of a certain flare, and whether or not one is preferred over another really doesn't matter to me. Discussion of which title is better is always influenced by numerous psychological conditioning patterns and biological predispositions that leads an individual to their opinion of preferential aesthetic choice. I would, however, like to state that I don't think the more cartoon eqsue style of Wind Waker should ever be mixed with anything more realistic in nature, otherwise we cross into the uncanny valley, as was done in this trailer.
To me, this hardly feels like uncanny valley. I see your point, but I disagree.

That nose......it just doesn't look like zelda.

Might be good or bad that she looks unique compared to predecessors, but I dunno. I think her face looks weird.

Elsewise, yeah, always like more story and characterization. Like Pokemon black and white.

just nitpicking here, but there's something about Zelda that looks off to me. Perhaps she looks less regal than in previous incarnations. Her features look more "common" than previous Zeldas. Is she even a princess here? Has Nintendo actually called her a princess in this trailer?

And nit picking... done.

I still feel put off by the whole wii-mote sword wavy thing. The hands on demos did not make it look appealing to me. It looked unnatural and Links arm seemed to wave around like it was possessed by a demon. That has gone and killed all my enthusiasm for the game because it just seems so hokey.

So they finally sacrificed the overly childish story of previous Zelda games, which avoided romance almost entirely and for no good reason. This allows those two characters to develop into more than mere personae. It's about time.

OT: This is the most anticipated release of the year for me so far. I love the art style, and it looks like a nice change of pace from the standard formula.

Ever since Zelda II I've never really gotten Link's motivation's for doing anything in this series. He was in love with Zelda there, at the end he lives happily ever after with her. That makes sense. Love is a human motivation and people will struggle for it. Other games have had the characters repeating history over and over simply because they are fated to and I've never enjoyed that. It's hollow. That's no kind of motivation. It would be nice if after 20 years somebody bothered to try to make the characters relatable as human beings again. I suspect however this is all we'll see to hint at romance and someone at Nintendo will say "what, they're just good friends? Did you read something into that?"

Sigh, It's STILL not grabbing me on the aesthetic, I'm sure this'll be a hit, it's a Zelda game. But I still can't get into it, even windwaker appealed to me more. This is like taking Twilight Princess and thwacking it in the balls with a paintbrush.
I mean I know the graphics for Twilight Princess were costly and time consuming. But it looked so freaking amazing. This is...this looks like it's come out of a less shiny "Tales of" game...

Whatever, I'm sure a friend of mine will buy it and the gameplay and story will outshine that niggling irk of mine, but as it stands for the moment they're only trying to sell it to me on music and graphic. And I'm not swallowing it.

Hum. Well I think I'm going to try and mirror what a few others have said:

Ok, in all seriousness though, the art style really does look a little strange to me. Two things, that's not going to stop me from buying this when I have money/access to a console/a game that's not in German, and I think I could get used to it.

It's neither like TP or WW, which is fine because they can change the art-style in any way they want (I'm not one of the people who go apeshit when something changes), but are you seriously saying that Link's face at the 38th second of the trailer doesn't look just a liiitle bit weird?

Everything else looks fine, so I am not complaining about the art-style in itself. It's just that the faces of the two characters look strange. The features are there, they just look unnatural.

The trailer itself is pretty awesome though. Man, I can't wait for this game.

I dunno if I think weird is the right word. Sure, they could work on his mouth a little more, but it's not "weird" to me.
